Sometimes games are like buses, nothing for a while then along comes several.   Smiley Blink

On my weekly trawl of whats new or on the way, I saw announced by Gamershell that Ubisoft and BlueByte have announced the development of a new, free, online citybuilder called Castle Empire, - Settlers Online in Europe. Its a browser based multiplayer based on the Settlers 7 artwork and is to be a strategy game with a construct of up to 70 buildings, with an economy, trade and diplomacy because fighting is necessary to gain territory etc. Looks nice, if you go to their website, leave an email address for a beta key. Can't help thinking they are jumping on the AoE 3 Online bandwagon because they both will be coming out about the same time.

Earlier I was moaning about involvement with the game world yah de yah and I glimpsed a title name called Entropia Universe, set on various planets and spacestations- which I remember caused a stir because of real dollars being worth game dollars and some gamer offering for sale an asteroid and receiving $100k for it which he made $1million eight months later - nice if you can get away with it. They have recently installed the Crytek 2 engine and the screenshots look absolutely stunning and instead of mindlessly fighting, there's tons of things to do either co-op or on your tod. Its free to play per se but of course has various microtransactions and I wondered if any of you gamers knew anything about it, as it looks interesting and I wouldn't mind giving it a whirl.

Wow, I remember playing Entropia years ago just to see what it was all about. I can't believe its still going as it was so dead when I played it. I remember the biggest city was like a ghost town. Also the game itself was beyond boring in my opinion. The world and everything in it seemed so boring and pointless.

I played PE back at the get go and had a lot of fun.  I loved the hunting as it felt more real than any other hunting sim I had tried.  Some of those creatures were hard to bring down and would sneak up on you! I also enjoyed the mining and had a few good hits and made quite a few PED.  The housing back then was poor and pricey so I never owned a house.  I ended up quiting and the rest of the guild slacked off too.  I must say though, I cashed in my PEDs for close to $2000 and it was what I used to fund my new business adventure, so don't ever let people tell you that gaming is a waste of time :D

I have to say.  .  .  this is a pretty nice game.    I've been playing it for past 3 weeks or so and so far I love it, it's slow and doesn't require you to be online 24/7.    To get to max level of 50 you'll easily spend months upon months of building and fighting, I'm lvl 20 so the game is very slow (something like Ikariam) and doesn't bore if you love building stuff :)
