Laughing  Umm..Global Warming.. hehe  I worry more about the people who are hot under the collar and letting off steam every chance they get.. more'na ol windy guy like myself..not that I'm promising a breath of fresh air or anything.   Big Smiley Grin Laughing

Yep Snowing like crazy..my friend with COPD has a 4 wheel drive with good tires..so if we decide to walk he'll take us over to the Mall.. but I've shovelled mine and two other neighbors walkways and porch areas (so they can feed their birds and squirrels).. so have had plenty of cardio already today ..or it  feels like it to me.   wink

I have the Crockpot stewing up some chowder..Hee YAW!!..I'll get to play around INside all day without feeling guilty.. I'm on my second mug of coffee.. so watch out the caffeine is about to kick everything into highgear.  Good thing I don't have a Snowblower..I had one when I spent some time in Montana.. now that machine was just plain out and out FUN...  Of course the Locals thought I was crazy.. so when they learned I was from Oregon.. they said .."Ah..now we understand"

Well it is Sooooo quiet with the snow dampening all the usual noise, plus being just down right pretty to look upon.   Hehe.. the critters are enjoying it too..cause we put out extra food for them.

So now I'm going to have quite a time.. figuring out which game I'll treat myself with on our SNOW day..  The kids not doubt are hoping and praying for all they can get.. but I don't see Blizzard conditions in the forecast.. well unless you head down to the local DQ..and get one.   Big Smiley Grin Laughing

Have a great day Lengo.. I use Yoga to "loosen up" my occasional stiffness.. but any kind of gentle stretching exercise may relieve the condition.

Snow depth here..is more than six inches.. beautiful pure white blanket.. now where's the camera.   Smiley Blink

Screw the camera! Where's a flame thrower?  I'm snowed in! Literally! The roads are a sheet of ice. You cannot see asphalt where the few cars that are out have passed. I got 6-7 inches of snow on top of my car. And my back is on fire this morning -- it's literally burning! I need to get to the chiropractor. I see no way to do that! Now what am I to do? It hurtz with a capital z!

This isn't a winter wonderland. It's a winter blunder land! Kee-rhyme-innee! Global warming my foot! We need Hillary to come open her big mouth and thaw everything!

Yesterday was pretty dull to say the least. But I did download some maps for UT2004, and finally saw the movie "Ghandi" starring Ben Kingsley. Wow! That movie is great! That's perhaps the best movie ever made! If you haven't seen it, please do! It is incredibly well written, and Ben Kingsley's performance is outstanding! The movie is inspiring! It is beautiful too -- the production design is facinating (old steam trains!) and so is the cinematography. I'll give the movie a perfect 10! Everybody should see this one. Everybody!

I dunno what to do today. I need to get out to the pool and swim. It would help to get to the chiropractor too. But it looks like the city is shut down. We're not prepared for this kind of weather.  I'm not either. The tires on my car are not even close to the right kind, and they're worn too. I'm stuck! Somebody call Zorro!

Max! At least you could send me some chowder!  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

hehe..I would if I could find a sled..and dogs.  My neighbor makes extra visits when I'm either baking or stewing up chowder.  He hates to cook..so I expect it.   Smiley Blink

Yep the weather has me stymied too.. I chipped Ice..made the walkways somewhat safer for those who want to drop in and visit.  I don't recommend any exposure to these icy conditions..why fall an break something when you have a perfect excuse to stay inside..cozy and do something else.  I have the Music going..got a couple of PCs running with a couple of games.  Check online every now and then.. and just might bake some molasses cookies..a request from the same person who likes my chowder.. hehe.

I try not to allow the weather to ruffle my feathers... just manage what is in my control..and avoid getting all stressed out over what I cannot control.  Having all the snow is UNusual...so a few memorable piccies will be saved for posterity.  I may run out of Milk..but can live without it for a day or so.. I certainly do not want to feel forced to drive in this stuff..or encourage my neighbor to do so.  I'll just put on my pioneer attitude and lay low until the weather moderates... and enjoy the change of pace.   Smiley Blink

One of the benefits of retirement... no work worries... YES!!!  Boy.. are the School Kids having a great time.. playing in this white stuff.  I'd rather be warm... Umm? Well if I had a snowmobile..I might change my mind.   wink

Well, the roads were clear at 1:00 and I was at the pool at 2:00, so I'm doing much better.  Swimming helps, and the Jacuzzi massage helps too. So all is well.... erm, better.

I woulda got there sooner buyt the stairs aren't salted. They're covered with ice. Still are! So I called the property managment company. The apartment manager is just plain lazy! She has more excuses than Planters has peanuts, but at least Mr. Peanut dresses with class!

Anyways, it's all good. It's back to nOrmaL at least, and tonight I got Hairspray, the movie. That should be fun! 'Twould be more fun if I had chowder, though.  <hint hint>  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

p.s. BTW, just what is in this chowder? Is it lam chowder or corn chowder or.... whut chowder?

Smiley Blink  Nice that you were able to get access to some of your normal routine..and feel better.

I haven't had the time for too many movies.. I watch a hour or so of TV a day..the rest is other activities.  My Chowder..?  I have three Favs..Clam, Chicken and Corn/Dumpling types.  I've refined the recipes to my personal taste..and these become a regular on my menu in the winter months.  Mm? Tonight I made Spanish Rice w/ broiled Chicken..nothing I do is fancy and basically easy to prepare.   wink

I guess there's hope that the Temps will allow the Ice to go away..hopefully.  I worry about all the accidents and the pain and discomfort they create.  Oregon needs H2O.. but only in the liquid form.   Big Smiley Grin Laughing

Oregon doesn't need any more water! Send the rain to Nevada. They need it there. Is gonna warm up, too. No more snow, just rain. I wonder if it's because G.Whiz Bush is gonna have his mistake of the union address tomorrow. Probably!

The movie was great! Is a real hoot! I'll recommend it. I rate it  Agreed Happy Agreed Happy Agreed Happy Agreed Happy Agreed Happy <-- 5 out of 5.  Is fun!

Arroz con Pollo, eh? Es muy sabrosa! I haven't had it in a long time. Do you put paprika in yours? Ya gotta. Just gotta! Otherwise it isn't arroz con pollo. It's just rice with chicken without it.  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

Tengo gusto de cocinar el arroz espanol con el pollo una vez o dos veces un mes. Paprika? Sí debo tenerlo en mi receta...if my rusty translation makes any sense at all .. Laughing

My brother's wife is Ecuadorian.. so most of the family is familiar with a little bit of a second language.. got to use it or... well you know how it is.   Big Smiley Grin Laughing

Yes, it makes sense, but what does rotating your tires once a month do for cooking in the kitchen? Big Smiley Grin Laughing

One thing I can tell you though is that REAL mexicans don't cook with refried beans.  Just use beans, fer chissake! Refritos taste like... like... like refried beans! They're terrible. Do you know why they refry them? Because they didn't get 'em right the first time. The second time, they get even worse! I married a hispanic woman. She wouldn't cook her beans in anything but a clay pot. She considered it blasphemy to cook 'em in a metal pot, and she was right. They taste different. They're much better if you cook 'em in a well tempered clay pot, for reasons I don't understand. I don't use a clay pot, but I don't eat refrieds either.

Have you ever had Paella? Now that's just freakin' yummy! Basically, it's a stew, so there's lotsa ways to make it. Look up some recipes on the net. You'll find one suitable for your crock pot.

Now you got me started. I guess I'll make me some arroz con pollo or paella soon. But only once or twice a month is not enough! Zorro isn't a super hero for nuthin'! He eats it daily!  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

Laughing  Yeah my Spanish can be too rigid.. so multiple translations are possible.. Plus lack of practice does this..  I'm glad you knew we were talking about Food.  hehe.

About metal pots..I prefer my ceramic pot for most things too. I refuse to use anyting that has aluminum in it. I wrap my potatoes in foil..and that's about it.  wink

I'm cleaning up leftovers tonight..nothing special interests my appetite tonight I guess.
