Morsning och Goodbye !!

And Klatu Barrada Nicto, too! That's what the alien in The Day The Earth Stood Still tells the woman to say to the giant robot. The scene goes something like this --

"What would happen if they kill you?", asks the woman.

"The robot is capable of destroying the world".

"Oh my!"

"If anything happens to me, be sure to tell him Klatu barrada nicto -- Klatu barrada nicto".

"Ok, got it... Klatu barrada nicto. What does it mean?"

With that, shots ring out and Michael Rennie is killed. It turns out later that Klatu barrada nicto means revive me and don't destroy the earth. Bummer. I woulda liked to see earth get blown to smithereens instead, but oh well... I just watch 'em and don't get to write 'em!

Klatu... barrada.... KABOOM-O!  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

I like that one Lengo.   Big Smiley Grin Laughing

Ok about Imperium Romanum: First this phrase,

"de gustibus non disputandum est" that's all Latin I know. It means something like "There is no arguing about taste".

I looked when my g/f played Glory of the Roman Empire ...... Heck it's almost the same game--- GotRE is better, it's in color.  Laughing

IR lacks color badly ..... No wonder every map looks like a desert.  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

I'm not finished ..... Gameplay is so repetitive, so if you play the game 18 times .... It's like watching the same Movie 18 times.

I'm so tired of the Colliseum, Circus Maximus and the other buildings that I feel sick when I see them  Laughing

Imperium Romanum is Not present on my computer anymore, for obvious reasons  Clapping Hands, Applause

The Glorification of these old times is just what the Eye sees.

Not one word about the poor souls who built the buildings .... They are the real Heroes as I see it  Thumbs Up

Smiley Blink  I can appreciate your personal opinion UC.. we all have our likes and dislikes.  I still like Yellow Subs..hope you do too.   wink

I no longer have GotRE on my PC.. but IR will be there for awhile, as the game is simple enough to play at my leisure.. it is repetitive, but so is SpiderSolitaire.  Most games I play are viewed as puzzles..something to relax and place the pieces where I think they should go.  If I'm away from the onslaught of woes this world holds for a few hours..I feel I've accomplished something. But we all have our choices of entertainment.. so until something better arrives for me, this is what I've chosen.

I don't critique games solely on graphics or music..or even gameplay anymore.  Though it is a measure if you want to compare one against another..that is a natural response.  Some of the simplest games give the most entertainment.  My games have sort of replaced my children..who use to liven up the household when they were home.  Now the games keep me mentally active and entertained..plus when I do have interchanges with the kids..we have something in common besides just being related to each other.   wink

I hope you can find some avenue that pleases you to fulfill your entertainment needs.. I certainly want what is best for you.. as you've always shared anything you thought might be enjoyed by others.. and it has for me I know.   Agreed Happy
