 Holiday Presents

Seasons greetings to all CB's, hope you are all keeping warm and toasty, now the holiday is nearly on us time for a little more gaming, looking forward to the New year sales already.  Anno 1701 taking up my time and now I've solved a couple of silly mistakes ie Trading and Free Trader assignment, simple when you know how but not explained properly am enjoying myself in a leisurely kind of way.  Like the Christmassy effects on the forum kind of nice trying them out.

Love the look of the site!! Christmas Tree

I, for one, will be happy when it is all over and I can get back to a normal schedule (not Really a Bah-Humbug  Laughing). So much running around and parties and wrapping and shipping and and .... Crips - it Does take away from my gaming time - doncha know.

BUT I can't wait for my new (rebuilt) PC  Holiday Presents

Thanks,

Well, this year I really outdid myself, I've put off all my christmas shopping until the 2nd to last day.  Yup, tommorrow we go christmas shopping.  Should be interesting considering we still don't know what we are getting anybody yet.  I mean what do you get for parents that can afford to buy themselves anything that they want?  Please no more jogging suits or handbags, or digitial photo frames.

Laughing  I know well ..your dilemma CB..  I've resorted to Gift Cards ..heavily..I see no other alternative.  I've learned from past experiences..that personal items I had chosen for family members (who requested that the receipt accompany the item).. so they could "return it" for something they "really" wanted.. <shrug>  (**well I might've muttered a few choice phrases under my breath)..but basically.. I just gave up.. and can do without the stress..so Gift Cards is my credo.. and they can take'm or leave'm ..***  and a Happy New Year to all..  hehe wink

Well, we held back to the last minute and did all our christmas shopping today.  We don't have that many people to buy for, only parents and brother and all kinds of neices and nephews children.

My mum is getting 2 memory foam pillows as we had a big discussion on the subject over thanksgiving and we told her where to go buy them but I know that she will never go out and actually buy them so we did it for her.

My dad got a really nice crystal martini glasses that have a very unusual shape and are tinted blue, I think he will appreciate them much more than trying to buy him clothing, my mum too I think will appreciate that we took the thought to actually buy her something that she expressed an interest in.

My brother got the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2008 game (gave him the 2007 version last year and he says he plays it all the time and he is a big golf nut so ....), if he doesn't show up this xmas (and I secretly hope he doesn't Laughing) then I'll keep the game for myself.

Our nieces and nephews children got things like really nice fiberglass and ripstop fabric'd kites, princess and fairy dress up outfits for the girls, a blow up 8' tall wheel that you get inside of and try to run around the lawn or pool area, and an assortment of other goodies.  This is the first year buying the kids anything and we are reaching out to them this year to try to bring all of the family in together.  We expect nothing in return other than our hopes of having both sides of the family come together in harmony and this is our first step in trying to do that.

Seee, I told you we don't have a lot of gifts to buy people, but we did still hold off until the last minute.  We also found some xmas cards where you insert your own photo on the cover so we're setting up to take a photo of all 3 dogs to insert in it.  The new standard poodle puppy got a leopard skin hat to wear, the 2 year old standard poodle has a santa clause hat to wear and the old girl the dalmatian will remain dignified.  I hope we get a good photo of them worthy of putting on the front of our christmas card.  As you maybe can tell I work better (shop better) under pressure of last moment purchases.  We got lucky that everywhere that we went the parking lots were full but the stores we were in were empty, so it was a quick in, look around for a couple hours, and out again.

That's the spirit we all can hope n' wish for..and if only applied in every segment of life in general..

Thanks for sharing CB... it's been a fine year..sharing stuff with you and all the others.

Looking forward to more of the same next year!!!   Holiday Presents

I'm still having problems with my satellite ISP and have to use dial-up (verrry slow) Flaming Mad
And it ties up my phone line so I don't stay online very long.

But I wanted to wish everyone:
