A small town dream, with a focus on leaving no space unturned, even if it simply be the proper placement of an open area or trees!

All in all, I'm vacilating between Small Town and Romantic as my favorites!

This is a small town themed city.

The first, second and third pics showcase varying views of my starting lay-out, begun on pause w/ initial cash on Difficult setting

The fourth, a rural, farming district begins!

The fifth, after a good period of initial development, the Bordon's Crossing Town Square is realized!

pat!

This series of five shots features the same wonderful covered bridge from sunrise to around 10 a.m.!  I thought it was a fine example of the awesome environmental effects that the TM engine brings to the game, from the sky, moving sun to water reflections!  Plus the covered bridge is just really cool!!!

The first, looking through the covered bridge.  I've found that you can move the camera all the way through the bridge and get the top and bottom of it the whole while!  Pretty damn impressive from a 3D rendering standpoint for a city builder!

The second, okay, last one of the bridge, I promise!

The third, the farming community outside of town is beginning to prosper.

The fourth, in town, all areas are ripe for community development.  This park tucked away behind the bed and breakfast and a local church features a playground, book store and florist!

The fifth, from Brick Bridge looking into town!

The first, again from Brick Bridge featuring a well-developed small town style city!

The second and third...a couple wide angle shots highlighting Town Square!

My next set of screenies will feature some close ups on the small areas in and around buildings to give folks examples of just how much detail you can go into in this game!

later,
pat!

The minutiae!  Here are just some examples of ways to utilize all 'the spaces in between'!

pat!

The first, an area behind some of the Town Square's shops, not left to become a simple access alley, but adorned w/ shrubs and carnival games!

The second, a local law ofice turned the green space behind their practice into a nifty little plaza featuring rose beds and a fountain!

The third, what was to be an access alley between houses (oh, yes, and a *ssshhh* speakeasy!) and businesses becomes a a hedge trimmed road that folks love to drive down.

The fourth, tucked away in the country among a cluster of Mission homes well off of any road, a simple altar offers the spiritual a place to contemplate life!

The fifth, near the school zone, local businesses cater to the teens of the town!

pat!

The first, note here how the only entrance to the mini golf course is off the pavers behind the local shops set up to cater to the kids.  Don't feel constrained by roads, your sims go everywhere to get where (and what) they want!

The second, a wide view of the school zone featuring our new refurbished ball field, soccer field (oh please someone MOD a football field!!!!) and the local shops and venues set up to cater to the kids!

The third, the canyon stone walk that is the centerpiece of the 'Fun Zone!'

The fourth, behind the elementary school, a playground is front and center for the little ones to enjoy, w/ access to the more teen shops and venues behind!

The fifth, from ground level, it's a quint place to pass the time!

And two more...

The first, even in the rain, Bordon Crossing's Fun Zone is frequented by Sims!

The second, this area behind a section of row homes has been upgraded to include a playground for the local youth to use.  Happy kids equal happy sims!

later,
pat!

I believe the covered bridge comes from when a dirt road bridge gets themed.  You may also find that the regular road bridges will get a circular interspersed ring around them in a certain theme.
