A new romantic themed city!  Whimsford by the River Whimsy!

Some shots!

First, a city is planned

Second, we'll build upon both riverbanks, taking advantage of its beauty!

Third, slow and steady progress

Fourth, the River Whimsy will be a centerpiece of our town, we'll spread out and not crowd ourselves!

Fifth, one of the residential districts featuring townhouses and condos..

pat!

And more as Whimsford progresses...

First, and our streets have been reborn! Lovely cobblestone streets highlight the beauty of the residences..

Second, we've built a musical theatre smack in the middle of our townhouses and brownstones...perhaps an entertainment district will be born!

Third, on the south side of town, townhouses give way to open space, ready to be developed...

pat!

Damn I love this style!!!!

The first, the rural folk love the ability to live outside the town limits but still have access to everything there is to do...

The second, Hortence Ave. is lit up at night!

The third, Bennigan Street near the Brownstones

The fourth, Bennigan Street at midday

The fifth, City Center has been carefully planned...a public place with much to do and places to relax!

pat!

More!

The first, City Center again!

The second, there are many venues near city center, too!

The third, on the banks of the Whimsy River, City Center features places to eat!

The fourth, an open space that is family friendly!

The fifth, the Art Museum was one of the centerpiece of our planning...

pat!

Great Screenies Pat!!!

I got my game Thursday and played last weekend.  So far my cities are reasonalby lousy looking, but I'm sure they will get better with time.

The Prima Guide really helps in learning the buildings, there are ever so many.

Oh, I'm already losing hours, but that is fine with me.  I guess I'm practicing with different layouts,  and finding out what buildings are available.  I've been doing the Fun City with a few Normal add ins.

thanks sandra!  it's great fun to try and lay out a town/city where you can have different types of folks living and still keep everyone smilin' along!  I've yet to fully master keeping folks in slum apartments totally happy...that's my next project!!  I tried once but my unhappiness kept rising!

later,

Some more from Whimsford!

The first, at night, looking over our winmill to the school zone and related parks...

The second, our Theatre District is refined and sedate!

The third, where town meets country there are still shops for the rural folk!

The fourth, we've tried to create a blended town, where residences, shops and even workplaces are interspersed with each other in a way that's natural and pleasing!

The fifth, further back, the police station blends seamlessly w/ a park and City Clock donated by the local Recycling Center!
