Hey, somewhere my site actully fits to be introduced:

www.pilotsnetwork.com

even though I usually dont have time to work on it, and end up playing games instead, it is a site I have had for awhile trying to get a virtual airline for.

an online community of people who fly together.  They all differ, some force you to fly certain planes once you rank up by having so many flight hours, or fly certain routes, etc... kind of like working for a real airline.. but virtual.  In my case, it is just an online community where there will be routes provided, but you an fly anything you want.  There is also the ability to have a logbook online, and a community of other pilots to talk to.  Advantage is it gives you a group of people to fly online with.

Sounds like fun.  I wish I knew how to fly properly and I'd likely find one of them to join.  I just made my first flight (with realism settings to high) from Santa Monica to Palm Springs and even managed to land by myself.  Granted I don't think the tarmac that I landed on was the actual runway that I was supposed to be one, but it was hard, and gray and looked like a runway to me, but since it had no numbers on it, I assume it must have been an access road.  But hey, I managed to fly over the san jacinto mountains with terribly gusty winds blowing the plane all over the place, I endured listening to the ATC telling me to climb to 13000 feet from 9000 feet and constantly tell me to expedite my climb to 13,000 feet.

Im not sure what kind of plane the ATC thought I was in, but this old cesna wasn't going to be climbing from 9k to 13k in any worlds speed records.

Anyway, touched down and didn't plant the prop in the ground.

lol you learn quick that FS ATC sucks, which is another advantage to flying online becuae you can get real people to be your atc, which gives it a real life feel to it.
But if you ever got an opening, and you get Fs9 loaded, (I might load FSX if I get it for christmas) ill fly online with you, I know of a few less crouded servers which are good for free flight.

I dunno, I listened in on a game the other night, it had about 15 people in there and granted it was about 3AM but man, I'd so much rather use the AI ATC then the person that was acting as the ATC in that game, she sounded like she was loaded to the gills, and the constant bickering about someone needing to get his azz off the runway had me rolling in my chair.

half the time I fly online just to fly with others wihtout the stress of ATC.
