How can I get a really really FLAT map?

I have moved all of my sliders all to the left - but can't seem to get Flat?

I want to do a tropical city - like Florida - Flat flat flat  Laughing

Also - does anyone know if a New map for this game can be created in SimCity3? Everything I have seen is from SimCity4 - but I already have 3 (and a copy of SimCity3000 game came with the pre-order).

you could do the landclass thingie, but I have no idea how it works, but in general, this game really needs a in game map editor.

I really don't like the buildings that "form" the wooden foundations  wink

But of all the foundations that form, the wooden are my favorite!  It's the cememnt ones I don't get...I just wish instead of forming a static foundation, they just contoured their walls w/ the ground...you'd think that'd be just as easy to program as the foundationf!

I absolutely hate the foundations on the buldings.  When the foundation is taller than the peeps in the game and they pile up at the front of it, and then magically teleport to the front door of the building, I usually wipe out the building, it's just so darn annoying to me.

Seems as tho there should be a way to create a perfectly Flat Map??

I have moved all of the sliders (in advanced setting) to the left and played with the last one (confusing wording on that one about eroded land or something?) And nothing I have tried has created a Flat Map!

I think you're best chance would be creating a height map and using all of the same color so that the one color is representative to the game as one height in the landscape and all sliders to flatten it out.

Can you use SimCity3000? That is the only one I have.

As long as it is the same constraints as what is used now, then yes.  I don't know the specifics but I think they need to either be 256x256 or 512x512 and 8bit tga files with varrying shades between black and white to indicate the height of the landscape.  Theres more info on height maps on the TM website.
