As the weather has been so bad in Plymouth this week end - well worse than usual.  I've really pigged out out on games this weekend, trying to catch up on some of the neglected ones  and in one of the time outs I casually had a browse of Amazon and Play. com to see if there was any change downward in prices.

Galactic Assault, Tarr Chronicles and Timeshift looked interesting and they were hyping them with glitzy screen shots so I bimbled over to Gamespot/Gamefaqs for some more information and had a quick look at the quick review synopsis.

CB or pad 11 said there were a lot of  cracking games out at the moment but looking at that list of about 20 titles there are some stinkers too

Galactic Assault  scored 7. 0
Tarr Chronicles               4. 0
Timeshift                         6. 5
Beowulf                           5. 0
Empire Earth 3                3. 5

You are Empty                1. 5 !!! Its a Russian FPS would you believe

With a score like that I'd give up and go on the Vodka for six weeks

Has any one seen lower the last one I saw before that was a  3 maybe.

PS:-  I placed my order for Anno 1701 as on Amazon one of their subsidiary sellers was selling it new for £8. 00 so it was worth holding out for and hope to have it by next Thursday,  looking forward to it keep me out of mischief for a while longer.

 Smiley Blink

Thanks for sharing this review info.. yes there's some cellar dweller games..and some really deserve not even to be listed as a game... Mm? I think that Russian title might've been aptly named.. to fit its rating.   Looking around cautiously

I posted mostly to say that 1701 AD does live up to it's series expectations.  Some of us who became Annolics way back with 1602.. so its easy to see how the loyalty continues.  I feel the Anno series deserves it..as I think other players will feel the same.  A game well worth having in your "to be played" list for sure.

I didn't recognize some of the games Titles mentioned in your post.. I guess I need to check more thoroughly.. since only certain games appeal to me.. which in turn eliminates quite a few. I don't play FPS anymore...bad eyes and slow reflexes, all age related make it pretty futile.   Sticking Tongue Out

Thanks again ..hope the weather calms down...everywhere, we're experiencing some really HiGH winds.. which always makes such a mess of things.

Nope I've never seen a score lower than 1.5 so far.  There are a few games that I've bought over the years that "would" get a lower score than 1.5 if it were up to me to give them a score.

Timeshift always catches my eye when Im at the local gamestop store, though since they are "still" asking full price I've never bothered to pick it up, with a score of 6.5, I'd likely pick it up when it hits the $9.00 bin.

Laughing  I have a few titles that I hope will hit the Bargin Basket soon too.  Not that I collect any ol game.. but some are not at the top of my list..and full price is not very kind to my tightwad logical side either.   Sticking Tongue Out
