Laughing Ah Hah... Taz... don't try to do any Math... focus on what's happening with the RED numbers.. use them or loose them.. they seem make the wheel of success spin...if that is a good way to describe it.

I didn't play SC:S tonight..I can't dream up another "flavor" theme to dive into.. Mm?  might have an inspiration before the night over...never know.   wink

OT..to OT hehe.. hope you don't get snowed in this weekend.. winter is definitely here.  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

Everyone is talking about red numbers and I don't have any red numbers, just green and white, so I don't know what to do.   Crying
The white ones are below the green ones, are they supposed to be red  Questioning

Taz - the numbers change to RED when you do not have any extra points. The green change to RED if you need more. These are the numbers in the bottom right corner of your screen.

Crips - sorry I am not doing a good job of explaining this - it is going on 1am and I am tired - hope someone can jump in here and make it clear  Bashfull Female

Ummm - there are TWO sets of numbers - those that show in the "building" box (what do they call it ?? description card??) These are red and green. The RED shows what that building "uses" and the GREEN show what you Gain if this building is placed in your town. The RED that your buildings use are the ones that add up for your "points".

I think I am making this worse - off to bed and maybe tomorrow I can explain this better -

We are in Florida and hope for an approching "cold" front to hit tuesday - it is suppose to get down to - - ready - - a high of 70  - YeeHaa we can finally turn off the AC for a few days  Laughing Can I come visit you guys for a White Christmas?

Taz, when you're using more societal values then you're producing, the green numbers on your screen will actually be red.   When placing buildings start looking at the icon in the left hand corner of the building card/selection.   a Red icon (such as a red painter's palette) means it consumes or uses societal values.   A green icon show how much it produces.   If you have more buildings consuming or using that specific themes societal value then you're producing, that green number you're currently showing will turn negative and display in red.

The white number is how much of that societal value you produce.   So if you're producing 100 and only using 50, you'll show a white 100 and a green +50, the green +50 representing how much surplus you have.

Hopefully that makes sense, and helps you work your way towards a purely themed city, or at least get you the results you're looking for.

Thanks Pam  Agreed Happy

I understand about the green, white, and red numbers, but still don't know how to get the "points" required to get the sheriff's trophy. Do I need to have a deficit (turn the number red) of 80 in something to get it?
Did you see if your game that created a trophy is still on your comp  Questioning

The good news is that I managed to get the roads to change in my Fun City.  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

Sure, come on up, but I can't guarantee a white Christmas. It was 6 degrees on my porch this morning, and when it's that cold it doesn't snow. But it's supposed to warm up (some) in a few days. How about sending some of your heat up here when you have to run the AC again.Laughing  We don't have an AC, and burn our own wood for heat, so our utility bills are low anyway.

Thanks for your reply Wizard, but my question was "what do I need to do to get the sheriff's trophy"  Questioning
Everyone says that the red (deficit) number is the one that counts, but that seems like a strange way to get a trophy.  Looking around cautiously

Taz...think of it this way...if you place enough buildings to have a say, Spirituality level of 50 (the bottom #, being a 50)..you haven't USED 50 spirituality (placing buidlings that USE spirituality, not supply it) until the top number is 0.  Does that help?

So if your goal is 150 of something, you should have a 150 (or more) as the bottom number and you will not have reached your goal of using 150 until that top number is 0!  (or if you have placed 165, then the top number has to be at least 15 or lower)...

pat!

I've actually had very little luck in creating any kind of purely themed society, but I really haven't concentrated on it much.   I was merely trying to answer your questions Taz, about the red numbers because in a couple of the posts, you appeared to be unclear about where the red numbers were.   Sorry I couldn't help any more than that. . .

Taz - I think I found what you were looking for!!

While in game - on the left side go down to the 3rd button (looks like an Olympic Medal) called "Achievements Screen". This shows what you need for each medal (Trophy) = what style of town, number of people etc.

I got the Sheriff in when building a Small Town.
