"They sent us south, to the hot lands, where we could live in peace.  'The locals will embrace you if you do not encroach upon their beliefs.'  That's what they told us.  So, can we live side by side with these indiginous people?  The few of us Northlanders who chose this as a respite from the drudgery that was Luster Plains?  We will try...we will bring our spirits and we will embrace the spirit of those who call this land home.  We will show them what we have to offer, and take what they offer as ample payment."

The first, Hallu Commons is founded...a grand experiment by the mayor of Luster Plains..."you have enough to pave a road to the settlement area, and I will set you up with windpower....after that, clear the land, make your roads and found the life you think would be better than the sheer industrial fury I can offer you here.  When you come back, you tell me which is better! Ha!"

The second, we build our homes and welcome the Hallu into our midst...their straw huts are simple yet functional!

The third, we will farm, learning from the Hallu and encorporating our techniques into common farms that we will use to sustain ourselves!

The fourth, the locals light their night lives with warm flame!

The fifth, in no time, our simple paved roads are changed and a more bucolic life is embraced by everyone here!

And Hallu Commons grows!

The first, Contemplation Bridge, the only stone bridge in the settlement, is a subtle yet colorful gateway to our homeland, a world away in Luster Plains.

The second, Settlement Square has grown with shops and the lovely yurts of the Hallu elite.  Two colorful roundtents allow for the shaman and elders of the Hallu community to live in a position of honor on the Square!

The third, the farmers market sits at the border between the roads paved by Luster Bay's work crews and the adequate dirt roads built by the Hallu, the only roads we know will use to enlarge what is becoming a great home for us!

More from the slumbering utopia of Hallu Commons!

The first, the wooden bridges are lit at night for the safety of the community

The second, the hut dwellers seem happy, their fires warm and friendly, and the dirt roads are lit at night!

The third, our homesteads welcome all who visit!

The fourth, a new faith healer arrived and her position of honor on Settlement Square was constructed!

The fifth, a monument to a power we'll never need, more of a history lesson, or a warning, the Cyberpunk statue glistens on the Square...

And more from Hallu!

The first, Contemplation Bridge, leading out of town and over the Hallu River, is now a busy hub...where our more 'advanced' farms help fund our cities growth!

The second, the colorful yurts along the river still shine at night!

The third, our need to educate had us build one larger house to lure a fine teacher from the North.  She handles four schools, rotating days and hours, but it works!

Geesh Pat! Great Job - but I am not sure I am going to thank you - NOW I HAVE to do a 'compemplative'!! Laughing

I am working on a 'Fun City' - set up a little like Disney. The southwest is one area, cottage look in another and all the whaky fun stuff in another - an area in the middle is waiting for the castle. (I actually started this city in Normal Mode so all the buildings are Not available yet).

Do the dirt roads ever Progress?

I just LOVE LOVE to see what others are doing and creating! Thanks pat for sharing these pics!

thanks mappam!  As far as I've discovered to date, the only time the dirtroads progress is in contemplative when they get those lovely little oil lamps along the sides of them!

3rd shot in the post above is very nice and a good show of how the roads are not needed for indiividual buildings.  It looks great Pat!
