Okay, let's give a nearly pure industrial city a shot and let me see if I can keep the streets clean and the pollution to a mediumish range!

Don't know if I can pull it off!

pat!

The first, a city on the plains is born...note the distinct districts...city center in the middle, row houses and trailer parks in the far north (leftish on cam), brownstones to the west there and yes, slums in the east, across the river in the 'bad' section of town!!!

The second AND the third, look...I NEED cheap housing for my workers but it doesn't have to suck, right????  I'll do my best to make their living conditions as bearable as possible, all the while giving them the things they need, you know, liquor stores, OTB, pawn shops...the kind of thing to keep a good worker down....

The fourth, city center is taking shape but take a look at the windows...still a pretty downtrodden city!!!

The fifth, I love the row houses along River Walk!  Thanks for the brick tiles CB!!!

pat!

I'm rolling in cash but what's with all the street detritis??? Big Smiley Grin Laughing

The first, the steam engine statue with its requisite steam!  Interesting entrance off of Dornegal's Bridge into Productivity Square

The second, in the dark, the park near the slums has a somewhat ominous presence

The third, even the high-rent district must be experiencing a strike by the street cleaners!

The fourth, off track betting and a liquor store...must be the low-rent district!!!

The fifth, from atop City Hall, looking out over the Dornegal to the row ouses along River Walk

pat!

I played a lot today!

The first, the slum apartments and tenemants DO give you access to a ball field...what more could you ask for?

The second, from the outside looking in, country living may just be better here in Luster Plains!

The third, sellin' food by the flea market!

The fourth, dawn's light showcases the hidden colors that come alight at first and last light!

The fifth, although seperated by a fence, the trailer folk and the townsfolk meld into a nice community!

pat!

Three more!

The first, nighttime over Dornegal's Bridge, looking in at Productivity Square

The second, again, twilight showcases colors even in the poorer part of town, and parks abound to make everyone's life as palatable as possible with so much work to do!

The third, Aspire Point on the Dornegal River, a fine public park!

pat!

I see a LOT more pick pockets, the folks are dressed a bit more 'modestly' and there are cops and firemen ALL OVER THE PLACE!  Also fewer hippies....

Thanks RhiannOn!

At this point, I'll echo CBs point about it being great to have a river on your map....really allows you to let the imagination go!

One thing I'd like to see added in the expansion would be the ability to create interconnected (economicially or socially) cities/maps!

Not sure HOW that would work, but you could build a world if you wanted!!!

An industrial zenith!

The first, moon over Luster Plains!

The second, there is NO good part of town anymore!

The third, Crushed by the Wheels of Industry! (Work, hah, Work!)

The fourth, from the outside looking in, maybe there IS something to celebrate!

The fifth, but Mo, the dank!!!!!

End!!!!

The first, a glowing sunrise as seen through the smog of progress...

The second, there's a river down there, somewhere!!

Very interesting Pat!

What POWER did you use for this city? Was that part of the overall 'smog' or did it come from the industry/cars?

Mappam, the smog really started to creep in because of Industry...then, when it was obvious that I couldn't hold the smog at bay and still have an industrial city, I COALED IT UP!!!
