I consider Pat! one of the people that really digs into their games and enjoys them.  Seeing all the pretty cities that he has created has me pondering something.

Why so many cities?

In SimCity 4, I could and often would play the same city for months at a time, as did many SC players.  But with SimCity: Societies I too like Pat! have many cities sitting here on my computer and Im pondering why that is and the only thing I can come up with is that because the cities don't evolve there just no reason to keep on building onto them.  That's my opinion but I'd love to hear other peoples opinions that also have masses of cities sitting on their hard drives.

What prompted you to quit one city and start another one?

CB, I think the reason that I start so many cities is a hunger to see the next culture that I can create!  I'm sure once I finish this campaign (i.e., get my trophies w/ this username) I'll can take some more time to go back and get to know my sims some more!  To me, the difference lies in the fact that with SimCity 4, once the game engine created your city, it was up to you to streamline and get it running smoothly and efficiently...but when I played SimCity 4, there wasn't a whole lot more for me to 'look forward to,' so the cities all seemed the same to me...

...I tend to zip onto the next city so quickly with SC:S because I have so many new opportunities out there to try and create something completely different from what I created in the last city!

Good lord, I'm not sure if that makes sense or not!  Don't know how well I articulated that! Looking around cautiously

later,
pat!

I agree CB.  Once you hit the all the medals and trophies for a city and you know the city can evolve more that you would move on to the next city type to conquer it.  With SimCity 4 well at least for me, it took a while to get the city to evolve and like Pat said, you are then focused on streamlinung.

Because I could. Sticking Tongue Out  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

In my case I like to start over with a small village and grow from there, once my village becomes a 'city' I want to start again. Laughing
That's when it's not freezing on me and I have to turn everything off Flaming Mad Flaming Mad
