Gosh I have a very old bootloader (does other things too I imagine) called something like System Commander 2000.  Obviously it's over 7 years old.  I'll have to see if it's even still being produced and if there are updates for it etc.  I'm struggling with MS Office 2003 install under Vista.  It says it installed fine but everytime I go to open Excell it tells me stdole.sumthing is missing or corrupt and a reinstall will fix it.  Well, I've already uninstalled, and reinstalled Office 2003 about 9 times this morning and it continues so getting XP back on here just for when I need to run excell would be a good thing.  I'll look into it later today, now Im exhausted since I went to bed at 2AM and got up at 4AM.

Is MS Office 2003 activated ?

Install SP3 for MS Office 2003. I've read about people who was successful with that under Vista.

But there's allot of people having problems out there, with Vista and MS Office 2003   Flaming Mad

It is now.  I was holding off on activating it for fear that I'd have to uninstall it and end up having to call them to get new activations put on it since it was activated twice on my XP installation, but.... Yeah I activated it finally this morning on Vista and installed SP3 for it, but it didn't help.

All the rest of the programs included seem to work properly except for Excell.  But all of the program when started up bring up a window that says that windows is now installing MS Office 2003, but in excell it tells me about that missing, or corrupt file but once I click through all the confirmation boxes and buttons Excell eventually starts up and runs.  But all that waiting is ridiculous.

Anyway, i finally got tired of trying to make this work properly and uninstalled it and maybe I'll try to get it working again once day but not today, it's too much trouble for me.

It ran find under XP for me.  I guess I'm going to have to use Open Office on this XP which is a sad statement for Microsoft if you ask me that their own product chokes on Vista (on my computer with a fresh nstall of Vista) but Suns Open Office (MS's competitor) works perfectly with, well as perfectly as Open Office can run and look.

I guess I'll have to just do my real excell spreadsheet stuff on my laptop if I can get Office to activate one more time.

They want you to buy Office 2007 (2008). I don't know if Office 2008 is out yet !?
At least that's what many people are thinking.

I'm one of the lucky few who have my Office in my wallet  Laughing

Ok Word might be good at times. But I figure Open Office is almost as good. (and it's free of $$).
