First impressions?  Stunning graphics, simply stunning, detail rivals (if not a tad better) than Caesar IV.  There is NO campaign, which in my mind is not such great thing...

But holy smokes what a sandbox!  I've only tootled w/ the tutorial for now, so I've NO idea on depth, etc.

One key...the tutorial MUST be replayed from start to finish...I mean, you can save the game anywhere and pick it back up, but when you reload it, the tutorial text/directions don't come back!

more later, maybe w/ some screenies (in different thread, of course).

pat!

I got the game this morning  (Montreal, Canada) and I agree with you. . the graphics are stunning. . with lots of small details to watch.    I like very much the way we can customize the game, the video set-up and even the maps to our liking.  And the FREE CAMERA is pretty good to.

At first glance, the game seems to me much more difficult than just some  "click and plop of buildings".  It seems to need a lot of planing to be successful because most of the buildings i've seen so far have some  criteria to be met before the becomes effective, even though you can plop them where you want toand there is a lot. . and i mean a lot, of informations to take into account. . . maybe a little to much ?

My first impressions are quite good after a few haours off exploration;

Be warned though: it's totally different than Sim City 4

Dawning realization...WOW do I see a lot of Children of the Nile in this game, and that's a GOOD thing.  From the standpoint of each 'sim' having his/her own details, the massive use of icons to say what a sim is doing, etc.  I remember all of that from CotN!

As long as my city isn't using bread for simoleans, I guess it's okay with me.  Im going to drive down to best buy in an hour and see if they got the title in or not.  If not maybe I'll stop at the target and walmart stores and see if they got it in and just chalk it up to a $10.00 learning experience with the whole preorder thing.

 Hello and Welcome I think everyone will be pleased with the graphics..they do have a mix of what TM's people like to deliver...though the SimCity look does bleed through when the cities growth fills in..and starts going vertical..  at least IMHO..  Smiley Blink

If this game takes off well..and plays well (without too many hiccups)...that's where it's a real treat for all CBer's who have been waiting since Caesar IV's release.

Please post how the game performs of your respective PC's.. as this was the nemesis for TM's last Caesar title.   Sticking Tongue Out

Stock up on your favorite gaming snacks and refreshment..  wink  right pat!!
