Okay I was at the local bestbuy and there was nothing else there, talk about a boring holiday game season, so I picked up the pre-release box and paid the $10.00 for it.  Figuring even if I don't go back to pay and pick up the game I now have my collection complete since the pre-release box also included a copy of simcity 3000.  I seem to remember having Simcity 3000 Unlimited, but I guess 3000 is better than not having that version at all.

Couple days to make up my mind if I want to spend the remaining $39.95 to pick up SimCity: Societies.

Where did you find it for $39.99?  All the places I've seen it listed is listing it at $49.99

I saw the preorder on the shelf at 'Game' today and went over and picked it up, when I saw it was going to be £34-99 I promptly put it back

I've got a pre-order coming but I don't know if I'll be installing SC3000..I remember it and I don't think i was a fan...I struggle with the whole 'city building itself' thing...I mean I like it, it's really great from a micromanagement point, but after a while I feel like too hands off!

I tried it a little while ago, I'll just say that it's one of those games that is probably best left in memory as being a really fun game

Yeah, sometimes that happens w/ games!  You remember how much fun they were and you kind of just have to hold on to that feeling!!  I can definitely think of a few!

Well, the automated Gamestop Phone Babe called, so my SC: Societies will be in this afternoon!  Kids have swimming lessons tonight, but by 8:30 p.m. I should be playing away!

My local Gamestop called yesterday to let me know that my pre-order would be in today - I have not gone out to get it yet

Well, I phoned the local Best Buy and the lady on the phone told me they don't have any in stock so I asked her what was the reason for me giving them $10.00 for the preorder if they don't have it on release day and she said that they are being drop shipped (whatever that means) and that they might have them sometime today, I asked when that would be and she said, sometime today (MAYBE!) so I guess MAYBE I'll pop down there tommorrow and see if they came in today.
