Oh my gosh! I bit off a lot of work! But I got it done.

Building the track took over nine hours. I timed it to the music by placing loudspeakers around it, then building small sections at a time when the car came around again. I got the turns, drops, and ramps as good as possible, but I left the last part in chaos mode. This was a LOT of work. It starts out okay, but as the track gets longer, you gotta wait for the car to come around.

Building the mountain underneath and around it took 4 hours. This includes placing scenery.

The hardest part was making the video. This is due in part to being unfamiliar with the editing software, and also due to not knowing about fille formats. I couldn't get a video that wasn't blurred. Once I finally got the blurred problem figured out, then I found many buggy things about the software. All software has it's way of doing things, and this software is no exception. Things need to be done in a certain order, or you'll be starting over. I started over many times.

Now, some of you know that I like international music, especially Pop. Most of my collection comes from the middle east. It's great stuff! This was an opportunity to let you in on at least one track. I had three songs I thought were good for a coaster ride, and ended up choosing the shortest one. It is 3:24 in length, and the coaster is HUGE! Nevertheless, the song is presented in its entirety, and the whole video is about 4 minutes long.

The song is Dus Bahane. It comes from an Indian artist named Shaan. If you like what you hear, there are many tracks by him on iTunes. Go get 'em!

The quality at Youtube just blows. The original on disk has better video and MUCH better sound quality. Why youtube mangles your vids is beyond me.


Please comment on it. I worked very hard on it. I have at least 24 hours in it, 8 of which were spent on just learning Pinnacle Studio 11, the video editing software. This is my firs REAL video from a real video edtiing software package.

I imagine they mangle the quality to keep their bandwidth bills down, especially since they offer a free service to so many people, it seems a fair tradeoff to me.

Anyway, that was one heck of a long ride.

Yeah, it's a long ride, but it's more about the song than the coaster.  Other choices of songs I have are even longer!

Anyways, tis fun making movies.  RCT3 is fun too. They both go hand in hand.

Well, if you mean do I like the ride, then yeah I think it's pretty good.  My only changes would be that I would add more mountains to it so that the track slices through the mountains and add snow to the mountains so that it feels like a snow tobogan.  Kind of hard for me to remember which ride that is.  Maybe it's the log ride?  Either way, mountains would be a yes, snow would be a yes if it's a tobogan type of ride.

So, in short, I think the ride looks good, but I'd add more scenery to it with mountains, trees, and buildings.

Wow that is one coaster  .  Your video is great.  I especially like how it can be done first person view in RCT3, it gets you really into the ride.

I've learned some more things about the video editor.  The next one will be better, but for a starter I think it turned out pretty good.  I dunno what's next, but I wanna do another about the peeps, and I have an idea for one about CivCity Rome.

Youtube is awfully cool, too! There's loads of great stuff there. Check it out thoroughly when you get a chance. And yeah, I hadda change my nick there too. 'Lengo' was taken (probably by me with a now decommissioned email address), so I just opted for another nick. You might wanna try that.

Lengo, how is your new video going?
  I'm still playing rct3  inbetween  the times when I'm also playing SimCity: Societies.  I miss the animals and the coasters..so I got to have my fix on the first person view with the rides...lots of fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I still love the karoke...Gosh the way the little kids dance is great  .  It is truely an excellent game.

I have a new thread in City Dump, "What's new?" Pad mentions SimCity Societies, so I'm gonna look at that because you've mentioned it too.

I miss the gaming, but I don't have a lot of up time. I plan to catch up a little over the next few days, and play a little Settlers.

Yeah, RCT3 rocks! Of all the games I've played in the last couple years, this one is the best. I'm glad you're still enjoying it.
