I'm still struggling with this, but I think I may found a clue on getting a coaster built right.

It appears to me that you want your numbers as shown in the attached screenie. The Excitement rating should be highest, Intensity in the middle, and Nausea low.

Now, I got these numbers with a new coaster -- the Extended Coaster. I don't have any comparisons, and this is the first one I built of this type. Here's some key things about it that probably contribute to numbers arranged as so

1. I didn't build it very high. In fact, it's about as low as can be to make one complete circuit. That leads to numbers 2 and 3.
2. The ride is short.
3. Speed is very slow. There's no screaming drops.
4. I have only one 'special' track item. That item is a barrel roll. I think the key is that there's only one fancy thing on the circuit.

So, I'm thinking this is the key. I dunno. Will try to incorporate the same in other coasters -- keep the speed down, especially.

If you guys come up with any results that confirm the above properties for getting the numbers right as shown below, please let me know.  I really want to get a handle on this.

Thanks.

 Hello and Welcome

Gosh,  I can't help you much Lengo soz.  I'm lazy and I use the ready made coasters  Sticking Tongue Out, but when/if I do attempt at making one I will let you know how I go.  i admire your persistance at not letting the coasters get the better of you  Thumbs Up .
It is so cool being able to ride them and when the peeps scream it is sooo funny.  Happy Dance

I went camera mode with an elephant  and  you sway from side to side..is very cool...but also slightly nausea making  Big Smiley Grin Laughing  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

Ride the elephant? Cool! I'll try that.  Agreed Happy

Yeah, I was very perplexed about coaster builiding. I think I may be on the right track now. I dunno. I am not feeling well today, so I haven't tried it yet.

I found out something else too. Try this. Click a peep, then open his thoughts panel. Now tickle him, by clicking on him again. If you can't find him, double click on his image in his info panel. Tickel him, and he'll stand still. Now, see the first thought? He says "what's that white thing?" Well, I've seen that before, but I didn't know you could do this: Wave your mouse around him. He'll look at it go around. This is so funny! Also, there's two ways to tickle him. Just click on him -- that's the first way. He'll laugh. The second way is while you're moving the mouse, click while it's moving. You sorta glance on him. He has a different reaction. He sorta dances. And there's different dances for the peeps. There's probably three or four different ones.

This game is a real hoot! I keep finding new goodies all the time.  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

I'll try riding the elephant now. Izzat the transportation elephant, or the zoo one?

I've built a shell for a mega park. Thiis consists of transportation routes. I got a monorail going around the perimeter with four stations, and a chair lift going north and south. Boy! I tell ya. That alone was a lot of work! So I decided to save that as a shell for starting another park.

From that shell, I'm making a Disneyland -- various zones of different themes. This is a lot of work too, but it seems to be working out.

If you want that shell, holler and I'll attach it to a post. But, for some reason I'm having trouble with the monorail. It keeps getting stuck, though I have no messages that it's broken. I dunno what's going on with that. Anyway, let me know if you want it. I'll be happy to share it.  Agreed Happy

Oh! And one other thing too. There's two transportation trains. The hop-on hop-off one has a whistle!  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

I've ridden the elephants. Man! you're right. Those make you sea sick!  Agreed Happy

Okay.... I've found out how to make the coaster so that excitement is higher than intensity, and intensity is higher than nausea.  Basically, you make a coaster that's a kiddie ride. Build no speed. Don't do anything fancy.

But, that's not a coaster! Coasters are suppose to make you scream!  Happy Dance

I've given up. The peeps ride 'em no matter how sickening or intense they are, so I'll spend no more time trying to make the perfect coaster. There's no such thing. However, you can make a bad ride. You don't want to do this. So, don't build one whose numbers are totally upside down. That's just plain RONG --- oops, I mean wrong.  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

Another thing I've found out too. This comes from playing the Wild! scenarios. Peeps are attracted to looking at the animals IF there are no rides. Once you get rides in your park, peeps flock to those and abandon your zoo ezhibits.

One other thing. Pools are more popular than rides! If you got rides, peeps will abandon them to go to the pools.

I guess the bottom line is, play one of the three --- either Roller Coaster, or water park, or zoo. Mixing them up doesn't gel very well. So, it seems the best bet is to keep 'em separate. That's unfortunate, but I guess it mirrors reality. If given the choice, I'd choose splashing in the pool with bikini clad girls over riding coasters, and choose riding coasters over looking at animals in the zoo.

I found some new toys too. I haven't gotten around to 'em, due to space limitations in the scens. These are the lion show and the reptile house. I gotta check those! They'll probably be pretty fun!

I think you just need to increase your park population (maybe through advertising or coupons or some such thing) so that you get a decent amount in the areas that they are not using. Perhaps lowering prices on those exhibits and or rides might help unless you are on a park that has an enterance fee but no individual ride fees.

I didn't find what you did Lengo. Fore me rides were more desirable than pools and pools more desireable than exhbits and exhibits more desireable than vommiting in  a trash bin.

I never expected to have more people in my pools or exhibits than my rides and can't recall ever having that.

I still believe it boils down to park layout and theming as to where your guests will go to.  A properly layed out park will funnel the guests around the entire park so that they get the opportunity to visit all rides and decide if they wish to ride them, visit all exhibits if they wish and play in the pool if the wish.  However there might be some peeps that are pure pool peeps, I don't recall for certain anymore.

But many people had issues getting peeps to ride their rides but after others got to see their layout it became rather obvious that they weren't using a proper layout for their park to funnel the peeps around to everything.

As for ride ratings, if the coaster exchange is still open, it will benefit you to download some great coasters and then disect those rides to see why they have the ratings that they have.  I don't think anybody learned overnight how to make great rated rides, took lots of practice.

Good luck

P.S. Don't forget that weather has a big part to play in whether or not people will want to use the pool I believe.  Not likely to find many peeps that wish to use the pool facilities when it's only 32° out.

Welll, I dunno. There seems to be countless versions of this game. There's RCT3, with it's own patch. There's Soaked! with it's own patch. There's Wild! with it's own patch. Then there's Gold, with it's own patch. Then there's Platinum, which has no patch!

Yeah, I lowered the price on the zoo attractions, but with little success. Peeps were overflowing, so I had plenty in my park. I don't think that's the problem. My obnservance of Platinum is as described. Peeps like pools best, rides second, and zoo animals last. That may be different in the other versions of this game, but that's what I see in the Wild! scenarios.

Routing is not the issue either. I have carefully chosen branch locations off the main arteries, and they quickly become arteries too. I don't have layout issues. At least I don't think so. Peeps are wandering everywhere.

Oh! and uh... not only do the animals look cool. They are nicely animated too. I saw Zebras do things I didn't expect to see. They get up off the ground by first righting themselves on their knees. Is most convincing!

Tomorrow (erm, today), I'm gonna go look at the lion show and reptile house. These, I hope, will be as cool as everything else I've seen. It just seems there's no end to the goodies in this game.

Then again, I'm getting past annoyed at the user interface! IT BLOWS! I'm losing my patience with that! It's a constant struggle! Sheesh! It really really really really really needs an overhaul! It could bne MUCH more streamlined!  Disagreeing Madly   I can't understand how they got to version 3 of this game with this interface!
