I don't know how to classify this game:

It's being released here Oct 15th, I think !?

http://www.buildingworld-thegame.com/en/

Seems like you can build "HOMES" in this one  Laughing

Demo is coming soon !

I believe that Paradox will release the game.

Lots of uncertainty --- lots of different info  Questioning

Interesting find, do be sure to keep us posted on what it turns out to be.  The website seems a little vague, it could be a classroom instructional aid for all I know, or it could be a game in there too.  It looks like it's a simcity 4 (but in 3D) type of game with the screenshots, but they dont' give near enough information to decide for certain.

Målgruppen er kreative gamere som liker simulatorer

That sentence was almost Swedish  Laughing

Well it says:

The target group is creative gamers, who like simulators.

My girlfriend says that Russian sites have many more Screenshots !!
She didn't give me any URL's though  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

It should be right up my alley if they allow me to build functioning cities of buildings.

I just guess I wonder how much gaming is in it and how much learning experience.  Which isn't to say that a learning experience can't be fun or gamey, but some games that are predominately instructional aids are usually very very dry and boring.

But if they build a game around whatever it is they are providing I'll be doing my happy dance for sure Happy Dance

Ut oh! Sounds like Trainz -- " By leaning on the creation of an online community of players"

Lean on me, eh? While you take home the cash? No thanks! Get a life, ya rat! Who do you think you are, Valve?

On top of that, naming conventions will SUCK!

Been there, done that. No thanks.

"I'm a capitalist, asking you to be a communist, so that I can make money, and you might get famous!"

At least they're up front about using you! "By leaning on the creation of an online community of players" is right on their front page.

What Im gathering from it, will be that it's primary focus is to allow people to try to construct buildings of their own design.  Maybe more of an archetectural game rather than a city builder.

There was a "game" a couple years ago that was sort of archetechtural where you had to design a bridge that could withstand trains passing over it.  It was highly addictive and I wish I still had it to play but it was a download and I don't.  Maybe this will be more like that, we build buildings in the "game" and they have to withstand other players scrutiny as well as the ravages of mother nature.  Which could provide for some fun in my opinion as well as some funstration.

I've been doing some reading on the sites in Norway..

And you're right.
You get to design your buildings (playing the Architect)
You get to build your designs in 3D
And you will have to manage the economic aspect of the whole thing..

It might be a City Builder that's Epic  Looking around cautiously

It might be a flop or a great game, it all depends on how things work together.

Demo coming soon. I hope they mean that.

The Demo is definitely worth a look  Smiley Blink

Absolutely.  Since the invention of Broadband there have only been a handful of demos that were not worth the time to download.

I wonder what the whole thing of economics is that we must manage.  Perhaps we are given a budget that we must stay under to build the buildings.

I can just see it now, you place the buildings in the world, one building at a time like many other CB style games with the difference in this game that you must actually design the building first before you can place it in the world.  It would indeed be epic trying to fill a landscape with buildings that you design, one by one by one by one.......

Right It seems like a slow paced city builder..
But that's ok with me, as long there is a "Fun Factor" in the game !!

But about release dates, they are labeled preliminary. So I'm not sure the game is out in Norway either.

If Paradox is about the release this game, they must think the game have got potential to sell X number of copies.
(That is positive to see Paradox as Publisher, the devs and other companies I've never heard of)

Let's hope it's a new kind of CB - game, that's fun to play..

The best thing to do is to watch their website. They promised both a Movie and a Demo..
