Yeah.... erm.... the peeps pass by it. I can't fill the queue! Two trains of two cars is all that's needed for this ride, and it is just plain FAST! I gotta tone it down. Will make a vid so you can see what can be done. Like, I'm still shaking from it. Barfing

Make sure that all of your turns are banked properly and make use of the braking pieces of tracks and you'll likely get that nausia rating to come down. Always fun when that happens and you still manage to keep the excitement rating up high.

Just like in real life, some people will enjoy the high excitment rated rides and some won't. The patch helped this a great deal as before the patch it was quite rare to find people even lining up at all for a high excitement ride if memory serves me right. Also ensuring again that the rides is themed to the 9's will help to entice more people into queue for the ride.

Um. I'm unsure about these ratings. How does excitement differ from intensity? I put a brake here and there on it, and guess what happened! The excitement rating went up! So, I dunno what I'm doin'. I'm just guessing!

I'm gonna try that. I'll dress it up pretty nicely.

All I did was make this coaster in sandbox, to experiment with what I learned from my mountain ride. I made a lot of the S turns, as shown in the video at the end of the ride. I just wanted to expand on that, so that the car was just barely staying in the track. I got killed numerous times! Was fun! Big Smiley Grin Laughing

Here's the video again, if you wanna see what I'm talking about: http://www.youtube.com/v/Y6L4CutTocI&rel=1

I definately want the nausea rating (here after gonna be referred as the barf factor Big Smiley Grin Laughing) to go down, but I don't want to hurt the excitement rating. And I'm unsure of how the excitement rating and intensity factor differ. I gotta look that up.

Anyways, is most cool. Making videos is fun too. Agreed Happy

I'd have to try to dig out the manual to be certain and I havn't even a slight clue where they are anymore. But I think... Excitement is generated by not only the track pieces used but also by theming used. Intensity is generated by hills and turns I believe. Nausia is generated by turns and hills and lack of brakes and banked turn pieces.

But Im trying to think from memory and my memory is often failing me.

You will almost always at least slightly lower the excitement and intensity when lowering the nausia rating. It's just all tied in that way. The real trick is a trick to use the right pieces that generate the ratings to fool the peeps into thinking it's a wild and wooly ride because of the pieces that you have used so that when the ride is pleasing to the gamers eye the trick works to make the peeps use the ride. That's a bit hard to express in writing for me.

But basically, here is the reverse.... You can build a ride that looks super exciting and intense to you, but the peeps still might find it boring and dull. So they won't ride it. Now reverse that and you might fnd that you build a ride that is not visually appealing to you or that looks fun or exciting but the peeps do find it to be so. This is because of a mathmatical formula used in counting track pieces used and how they are joined to other pieces. Once you have learned this formula its near impossible to stray from a high excitement, medium intensity and low nausia ride.

Basically from memory, I think you want exactly that, High excitement, medium intensity and low nausia to make a good portion of the peeps happy with the ride. But again, my memory has so many holes in it, you could drain pasta in it.

I may not have said it before, but I think that RCT3 is one of those games that wasn't as well received by the public as the first and second version of the game but to be honest it sure has held up well and stood the sands of time. I think Im actually going to have to see where I put the CD's and reinstall it and take a break from Settlers 6, Two Worlds and Lord of the Rings oNline. I remember many a peaceful hour spent working on my parks even though I was never even close to building very good parks, it was still quiet enjoyable.

Maybe a nice bottle of cinamon shnapz and a game of RCT3 might just be in order right about now.

I still haven't gotten around to looking it up. I'll find out.

But.... Crying I LOST MY COASTER! Crying Crying Crying

I didn't save the sandbox, but I saved the coaster. The coaster goes undergound in two places, and I can't notch out the land to get it place again. DANG! I tried to recreate it, but I can't come even close!

Crying this sucks!

It really shouldn't be all the difficult. Did you save with scenery when you designed your coaster? If not, then go back and and try that and see if that makes a difference or not.

If not, then you'll need to do it manually by over sizing the holes that you need. But Im pretty sure there was an easy way of doing this back when I was playing the game.

P.S. How may expansions were there for RCT3? I've been looking in my electronic disc storage unit and I see Wild and Soaked, isn't there one other expansion for RCT3? I don't want to reinstall unless I have them all to do so.

Wild and Soaked are the only expansions. That's plenty too!

No, my coaster is lost. I'd rather just make another than try to salvage that. And yes, I did save it with scenery, but that's not an issue. Lining up the holes in the ground is what's the problem.

Oh well, live and learn. And boy! I'm learning! But, I don't konw if I'm living! Big Smiley Grin Laughing
