Hi there - I am new to this forum but not new to City building type games. I have recently been playing more of the MMORPG (EQ2) games but have been traveling and can't seem to want to get back into it.

So I thought I would ask you knowledgeable fans = what should I get next?

I know - I know - we all have our favorites BUT I guess I want some of your input before I spend the $.

Question = I see a forum for "Two Worlds" - this looks more like a RPG than a CB game to me - what am I missing?

I am loading the demo for Guild 2 as I write. I have played the new Settlers Demo and liked it a lot - but can't find any info from players that have gotten the new retail version. I do not like the 'map' in the demo but do like the way the game plays.

As you can see in my info at the bottom - I have or have played many CB games and like some better than others LOL

I will head out later or first thing tomorrow and buy the retail version of some game - I would love your input before I make this **cough** drastic move  Laughing

Hi Mappam,

My favorites are Children of the Nile and Caesar IV.  CivCity Rome is also pretty good.

I recently purchased and am still playing G2 with the expansion (the expan male it a llot more playable imho.  Not total CB but very interesting and until I actually figured out the game very frustrating.   Crying But what a challenge.

I did order S6 and am just waiting for delivery - didn't play the demo.

Good luck in your quest.

Hi Mappam,
Welcome to the forum.  Agreed Happy
A lot of the folks here are enjoying 1701 and are anxiously awaiting the add-on. This is my personal fav. Smiley Blink  I see you have the previous Anno's - 1701 is even better.  Thumbs Up
You're right, 2worlds is an RPG  Sticking Tongue Out but several members (even those who don't care for RPG, including me) are playing it. I have the demo only, don't know if I'll spring for the full version. It has a multiplayer function that some are playing.
Please let us know what you docided to get, and join in on some of discussions.

Taz and Cat - thanks so much for the replies and info!

Demo's are my friend  wink and just finished the Guild 2 one - by the time I finished the tutorial I was almost out of time - so didn't have a chance to see if I like the game or not. The premise is interesting and looks like it could be fun.

Settlers (as stated above) also looks interesting and I am curious about some of the content of the retail - may just wait for a week or so until others have a chance to test it all out.

I think I will now download the demo for Two Worlds and see what others are talking about. I have "Sacred" and "Dungeon Siege" and like the concept of this type of game - so it seems a good one to try.

1701 also has a demo I believe - so something else to try.

I will indeed keep you informed and Thanks Again!

Welcome to the Forum mappam !!

I hope you download the Two Worlds demo..

If you like Sacred and Dungeon Siege, I'm sure you like Two Worlds  wink

I've been playing TW for 78 hours now (according to the game timer  Looking around cautiously)

A very addicting game for many  Smiley Blink

(If my English looks strange, it's because it's not my native language. I'm from Sweden)

Hope you will enjoy the Forum !

Hi Mappam, you're not missing anything.  The people here always put me under great pressure to create new forums for their games even though they arn't city building games so I cave in and do as they want.  grumble grumble grumble.  Thus is the case with the forums for Two Worlds.

Anyway, my fav of the most recent CB game is still with Anno 1701

Looking around cautiously  hehe CB..?  and how many hours did YOU invest playing 2Worlds?..   I think inticing us poor ol' CBer's out of our warm and fuzzy true city builders genre...into a Mega RPG world is where the real pressure exists.. I may never recover..  Laughing

welcome mappam!

You'll find this forum quite addicting and without trolls!  Making it a rarity indeed!

If you're looking for good games to play that are truly unique, I'd steer you toward the Guild 2 w/Add On, my personal all-time favorites.  I also LOVE Caesar 4 and Children of the Nile and right now just purchased Settlers 6, so I'll be going nuts w/ that for the next few weeks for sure!

again, welcome and keep us updated on what you choose to do!

later,
pat!

Hi again - and thanks again for the replies and info.

I just bought and am installing The Settlers Rise of an Empire - why did I go with this one = It was the ONLY game I was looking for that ANYONE had in stock  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

I did look at Amazon.com and can get 1701 for like $18 so that seems the way to go on that one and I will google Guild 2 to see what online pricing I can find.

I will let you know what I think of The Settlers after I play around with it for a few hours.....
