Well, if you can hang tight another couple days I hope that saturday Sammy and I will be starting new toons on one of the servers, not sure that we are going to stay on Vilya.  I think it more likely that we will be starting new toons over on Landroval or Brandywine.  I will continue to play the minstrel, Sammy will likely play a guardian or some other form of melee character as thats the kind of character that she plays in wow.  So Im not sure what mixes well with that.

I hoping she's in the mood for it on Saturday as I've been wanting to play but dont have the excitement to play my current vilya minstrel knowing that Im going to be starting all over again with her when she's got the free time.

You seem like more of a socializer type in games, I would recommend Landroval because they are always holding contests, events, 'bake-offs' (those crazy hobbitses) and RP events.  This boils down to something to do even when it's not all about leveling. People will just add you into their RP if you stand around them long enough, 99% of the server is friendly and helpful and the ones that rent just dont speak (ie- almost 0% tolerance for trolling).  Personally Im a powergamer myself, but I always choose RP servers because on the rare times Im not fighting I will go to town and check these people out while crafting/sorting packs etc (one of these days I'll check out one of their events: nude races to bree, RP events and the festival grounds, battle of the bards, etc).
I would recommend Landroval, but again, I can level anywhere anytime.
Once you decide on where you're going to land I'll give you a week or so then log in.
Unless you're going to roll human toons, then we should meet up on a Sat Morning, you'll be 20 before Sun night

I guess you could look at it that way.  I think more of myself as not being in any great hurry to get to whatever the end cap level stuff is.  I like to stop and admire the landscape, I do enjoy socializing with people that are putting on special events, MMORPG's to me have never been about racing to the level cap to beat whomever the big boss happens to be.

Since I (now we: sammy and i) have lifetime accounts, it's definately no race.  I will likely always be behind the majority curve of level but usually will be above the majority curve of economics in any MMORPG that I play.  For some reason I just seem to accell at that.  I often have far more gold than the average majority of players at the same level as I am.  It's just one of those aspects of games that I enjoy fooling around with.  Some people say that I try to cheat others out of their gold by selling items for a good profit by buyng low3 and selling high, I look at it not at all as cheating them out of their money but ratheras a business mans approach to MMO's. Ok well first off: 1000 curses upon you for mentioning Loki!  Big Smiley Grin Laughing
I *knew* shoulda stopped reading right at the form of movement (I hatethat style of movement...but I d/l'd it anyway and...ugh.

Now, for the economy.
Isnt rule#1 to buy low and sell high? Followed by supply and demand? I think the third rule PT Barnum stated best heh.
If you got something like a sweet chestpiece or a very rare craft item, why wouldnt you ask and wait for the premium price? I love when other people tell you how to play the game to suit their playstyle. I see items for sale all the time that would give me a huge advantage in battle, and the asking prices are way outta my league, and it could even be 20x what *I* may think it's worth. I dont go berating the seller because I cant afford it, it's his item he has every right to ask whatever he wants, but not his problem I cant afford it. When they pay you're subscription, they can start calling the shots, imo. Besides, if someone wants, they will buy it, no questions asked. Tell the others to jog on!
As for the leveling, it's totally your call. I just need the server and the time Smiley Blink, I know all the quests up to about lev 25 by heart so I could help you level or you two can take your time and I'll catch up immediately

I think the problem is that people feel ripped off when I find a steal on the auction and resell it for higher.  Personally I think that's just part of the game else they wouldn't have an auction house to begin with.

I remember someone complaining about it on the WOW forum and asking that people be banned for doing it.  Blizzard stepped in and told everybody it was part of the game to "play" the auction house and that even know that particular developer would rather eat brussel sprouts with a dog poop sauce on top, it was still a part of the game.  Unfortunately many people just don't seem to get this.

I love the people that say, I don't do that, and I list my prices very very low because I think it's only fair.  I love those people, because it's those people that I end up buying their items and reselling them for substantially more.  People will either pay my price or I'll have to relist.  So far other than old single recipe special ingredients I've rarely had to relist my items more than once before someone is willing to pay what I want for them.  I don't laugh at the people that pay my price like I've seen some people say in the general chat like "Thanks to the fool that just bought my [insert item here] for 4 gold, SUKKA!" Because they are my bread and butta, when it comes to making extra cash on the auctions.

I actually almost, (almost) enjoy playing the auction house in these MMORPG games than I do to go adventuring.  Theres little enjoyment to me to go beat some AI, but when you "convince" another player to buy your item, well... Now that's fun.

I remember a time on SWG when those holocron cubes came out, people were going berzerk to get their hands on just 1 (3 cubes would give you clues to your path before they went silent) and I was in this pvp guild so we already had uber gear for fighting other players, so of course mobs are no match to us. We camped this one spot for weeks, raking in cube after cube after cube.

I went to the boards and said I had 1 of each and I'm selling for 5 mil each (rebel or empire).
Lol, the amounts of people calling for my head and asking me how I sleep at night and bloody murder this and cancel his account that, hacker yaddayadda. Then they were calling for GMs to block our guilds entrance into the caves because we 'killed them too fast'. Long story short, the boards filled with pages of gamers frothing at the mouth, meanwhile I got PMs for 10 and 15 mil buyouts. Every morning I would announce a new batch, every morning people were getting their tar and feathers ready, and every afternoon I was abother 20-30 mil richer...
Then I unlocked, the JTL expansion came out, the game went to $h*t and I ended up burning up like 120Mil in credits, after I went broke, I immediately cancelled Smiley Blink
I wasnt as polished as I am these days *cough* so I told alot of those haters what they could do with their opinions...heh we did alot more than farm cubes, but that is another story altogether.

That's a great story Exyll.  Thankfully the people at lotro havn't gotten quite that uptight about the issue.  I think relatively small amount of the lotro players even use the forums over there.  Well, I created an account over on Landroval, character is a hobbit minstrel named Mellas.  I may start a kinship over there if I don't find  a good one available, I rather like my current Vilya kinship name of Merchants of Destiny and we have a website over at the domain of the same name, www.merchantsofdestiny.com so might as well go with the existing flow I think.  Once I get re-established on Landroval with my new toon, Im going to pay to bring over my main from Vilya, I just can't give up that much gold.

Ah Landroval, ok cool. I think you'll really like Landroval: mature, friendly group, almost no question is left unanswered and if you check the server boards I bet you'll see at lesat 2-3 events going on this weekend. If you have a rough estimate on the times you'll be playing I'll try and jump on.
I was in Hobbitual but for some reasoin I was removed ( I wonder if not logging in for 5 mos had anything to do with it). I guess I'll jump on my lowest guy and follow you around til you get your weight up. My main is a capt but if you're going to be Minst, I'll go Guardian. Between the two classes we'll have no problems making/forming groups and stuff
