Just thought i'd show you my mother.  You can find her by going to the following url:
http://kcetdesertcities.org/community/tourbus/

My mother is the one on the left, and the one on the right is an actress by the name of Ruta Lee, I can't really recall what shows she has done, but I do know theres been a lot of them.  The only one that sticks out in my mind is an episode of the Andy Griffin show (the one where he is the sheriff of Mayberry) where Ruta played a character for just one episode.

This show airs not only in our local community but in many areas where KCET is aired across America.

I don't really care for the opening, it seems very forced and they should have dropped out the "and wer'e back" and just gone into  the "and this is the tour bus stops here" line, and I may mention it to her if I get the courage to do so, hahaha

Well now! I shoulda suspected that you have lead the lifestyle of the rich and famous, seeing how you live in Palm Springs!

I see she's still working. Imdb shows that she's in a movie made in 2006 and in two made 2005. That's pretty good. And Imdb shows that she's been in 126 films! You've probably met some famous movie stars.

Well, tell her I'm available. She's a babe for someone that's seventy years old. Wow! If only I was 20 years older!

edit:

HOLD IT!

Do you live at Kramer Estate?  Are you in any way connected with it?

Well, I've definatley not lead the life of the rich and famous though my mother has.  I actually live in the next town over to Palm Springs in a city called Cathedral City, but when people ask where I live, if I say Cathedral City they don't have a clue where that is, so I tell people Palm Springs since most people know where that is.

Yes Ruta has been in many many shows.  My mothers bio on imdb is highly inaccurate, it shows that shes been in only a couple shows but she's had her own running television show that ran for about 3 years in Los Angeles and was syndicated all over the world for about 2 of those 3 years, so there was actually hundreds of shows, though I imagine that imdb only actually lists "movies" and not television or radio.  She also had her own magazine for a couple years called "Toni Holt's Movie Life" and did a brief stint as the centerfold cordinator for Playgirl magazine where she picked out each centerfold for the magazine and travelled all around the world promoting the magazine in it's early days.  She's had numerous radio shows and was a chorus girl (back in the 60's for the follies in New York I believe).

If your talking about the Kramer Estate that they talk about in their tourbus show, then yes I am connected to it because it's my parents estate, but no, I don't live there.  Kramer is my stepfather of 20 years now (I think) and they bought the estate when it was really run down, and have turned it into what it is today (the 2nd largest privately owned estate in Palm Springs at 4 acres).  The room that they show in the opening of each of the show is the living room of the estate that never gets used for anything but parties pretty much.

Yes I've met a lot of wealthy and influential people in my life (though it's never helped me out any) as well as many well known celebrities (also never helped me any).  My parents just left for Washington to go to some party being held by Nancy Pelosi (the new house speaker) that they are friends with.  I've also met 3 presidents (Reagan, Ford and Clinton, might be 4 presidents if Hillary runs and wins it).

My parents are quite different then parents that I know who are in their same income and influence bracket because my parents don't believe in spoiling the child, whereas some of my childhood friends were quite spoiled and are now senators, and big BIG business people, where as I am a very small business owner (Im the only employee so I use the term business lightly) running my own Warranty Administration business that deals with about 5 automobile dealerships and makes a very very meager existance.. I mean income...

The house that I live in now is the exact opposite of the Kramer estate in that it's about 700sf in total, but we do have a nice yard and pool but it is a rental.  Im not ready to buy another house now, I sold mine 3 years ago (doubled my purchase price, but my purchase price was only 71,000 so.....) when houses were selling really well in California.  Now houses in my area are still trying to fetch 500,000 to 1,200,000 which even the lowest end of the spectrum is well beyond my means.

As far as Ruta is concerned she's now doing a play (and has been for about a year or so) called Senior Class in Palm Springs or Palm Desert (can't remember which) that is quite comical co starring with some other well known desert celebrities.

Awesome!  How come I've never got an invitation?

Not! Being around successful people alone is a bonus. You get to see how they act. You get insight into what makes a successful person successful, plus you generally get to associate with the most interesting and intelligent people. That in itself is a big plus, though it can be frustrating.

My second wife's father was a corporate vice president of Aerojet General. The people I was aroung taught me much that can't be learned anywhere else. I learned what it means to be a gentlemen. I learned what good conversation is. The only downside is that I have not been in such circles since! Most everyone Iknow are complete dolts compared to that crowd! That is what's frustrating!

So, count your blessings. You've probably learned things that you're taking for granted. Think on those things, and you'll walk away with something more than you expected -- though it will probably be very frustrating.

Use your wiles and wits to get an audience with ms. Pelosi. Nothing but good can come from it. But go with a plan to offer. You at least have opportunity to get support from the influential who can make your ideas come to fruition.

Your parents did you a big favor. If you don't earn it yourself, it's not worth having. And it sounds like you're doing pretty well. Most people work from 9 to 5, and even worse than that! They're working graveyard shifts, and swing shifts, and have to rely on overtime. Plus they don't OWN their work. They are merely employees that don't even enjoy what they do!

DOH! I can relate. I bought a home in Rancho Cucamonga before it became the upscale financial center of the San Bernardino Valley. I sold if five years later and nearly doubled my money, but if I had it now I'd have purchasing power (equity) out the wazzoo! BUt, alsas, tis only 20-20 hindsight, and keeping it was killing me. I was driving 35 miles to work at Huge Aircrash Company, and the stress (and smog) was literally killing me!

I gotta admire her energy. Hell, I'm fiteen years her junior and have very little health left. So, she's pretty amazing! Man! If only.....

Anyway,.... this is most fascinating! From now on I'm gonna think differently about CB! You're an amazing guy! I knew you was smart, but now.....

And don't forget! It's not over until it's over! If you have greater ambitions, you have superb opportunities. Take 'em, if you're so inclined!

Your right I do take a lot of things that I learned from those people for granted.  Proper manners and how to act in polite society.

And I've never regretted having to go to boarding schools instead of the public education system, I think I learned a lot from that too.  But for some reason my mother seems to think that I hold it against her that she wasn't there to have milk and cookies ready for my brother and I when we got home from school, but I really don't.

About the only thing that I didn't like about boarding schools was that my mother never came to any school events that I was in, such as plays, and graduation, when she could have if she had wanted to and had her familiar priorities straight.  But since that was 20+ years ago it no longer bothers me but I sure do remember during high school graduation when all my friends parents were there except mine.

Anyway, Im sure theres lots more that I take for granted in my life that I havn't really thought of and Im certainly thankfull that I no longer have to work for someone else and do the whole 9-5 thing.  I used to drive over 2 hours each way to work in los angles till I went out on my own and became able to work from home.

Now I sleep when I want to, I go out when I want to, I eat when I want to and of course I work when I want to (although sometimes it's crunch time and I have to do more working than eating or sleeping, but thats alright by me since when Im working Im making money).
