no but im going to bite at it soon, lol... im going to get it via steam, and those reviews pretty much is the selling point.  Im going to dload the demo first... ( I actully did, but ran into some problem when I installed it, so Im going to dload again (ahh, its a big file).  But if you got it, tell me how it is... even though these 95%+ ratings better mean it is amazing.

I dunno, everytime I think of FPS I think of
p33pL3 wH0 +@lK lI3K tHi$ @n oNlY c@eR @boUt pRettI gR@fIkS @n tH#iR kIll c0wNt '@n tH3Ir tWiTcH r3fL3x3Z - lOlr0FLc0p+3r.
Coupled with the fact that Im no longer 12 (no offense to the pre teenies), Im more interested in games that challenge my mind than my fingers/keyboard.
But...Im also very bored and there is nothing new out there (besides 2 worlds which everyone is giving pos feedback to)
If there is a demo available I'll check it out.

Crowebird!  Welll, i've installed it, we'll see!

Exyll:  I 'kinda' get your point...that's how I felt about STALKER until I actually played it....since I own literally every damn city builder ever made  Big Smiley Grin Laughing , I often need a brain break and STALKER served that purpose, so I'm willing to give BioShock a try particularly since it has elements of being an RPG in it...so that's an allure!

Umm BioShock wont run...
(And on that note, dont buy LeadTek cards)
So now Im at the xroads I've been (luckily) avoiding for the past two years.
Before I begin, Leadtek video cards are some of the stablest (sp) cards I've ever seen
bad part of that is, I can NEVER get the damn drivers to upgrade. 8yrs of gaming, 3 machines later I've never updated my drivers, not because I dont want to but because everytime I do it causes my cards to go into a constant BIOS loop.I;ve tried ATI cards...they're ok but something about Nvidia cards...they know how to produce eyecandy like no other. the machine Im using now is dual core SLI (so new it was that PCI-E wasnt even available so now I have 2 AGP hogs in there).
Doing the research for compatibility on a new rig: very exciting.
Checking compatibility for replacement parts: boring.
With that said, I'll probably build another machine for a Xmas gift or go with an AlienWare.
for the past 10 yrs I've been able to make A/W spec'd machines for cheaper than they offer.
But now parts are so cheap I think Im gonna let THEM do the work this time (plus I always wanted water cooling, too afraid to attempt myself).

WOOOOT!

I love my Alien!!!!  Best purchase I've ever made (however, since it's a lappy, I've had the vid card go one time...which sucked...but the warranty covered all!!!)

I can play all my singleplayer games on full max settings, 8x AA, 16x AF, high shadows, high textures, all options maxed out at 1680*1050 and get great performance with the exception of Ceasar 4 which is still a hog and fat pig and the larger the map (even empty map) the slower the game scrolls around the screen.

When it comes to Online game like World of Warcraft or Lord of the Rings Online, my machine does good to excellent.  In W.O.W my machine always produces the max 60fps that it's capped at with vsync turne on no matter what the circumstance is.  But with Lord of the Rings Online, I get a hitching problem when a large amount of scenery comes into view all of a sudden.  This is quite annoying and I love the game so much that I would be willing to spend what is necessary to eliminate this problem, be that a new faster SCSI hard drive or throw away the memory I have and buy it new again or whatever it takes.  So far nobody on the Lotro forums has come up with a solution to the problem and many people blame it on the gamers computer (don't know if they are right or not in this assesment) but I have a tendancy to think that it's the game and how things *pop* into view in the game all of a sudden as well as the high poly count of things like buildings.  I can be outside of bree not looking at the gates of bree and have 85-100FPS, turn my character so that the view of the town comes into my view and my FPS instantly drops down to about 30-35FPS, actually entering town causes the nasty hitching (jerking) problem, where my FPS might be up as high as 50FPS and then for one brief second (literally), the FPS will drop down to about 11-19, then bounce right back up to the 50FPS.  This produces a nasty hitching or jerking effect that is about to drive me insane.

I may go down to PC Club today and buy whatever is the fastest hard drive that they have and use it purely for things like gaming to see if I can overcome this problem.  I figure if I throw enough money at the problem then it is likely I will eventually find a cure  Looking around cautiously  Laughing   Purely guessing but it could be a bottleneck at the hard drive having to spin up and send all the data of the textures and whatnot for all the items that pop into view at one time.

As far as bioshock goes, iM just no damn good at FPS games, never have been.  They really just don't interest me, I feel the need to actually see my character and not just his hand and weapon (don't know if bioshock is 3rd person view or not), even if it is just looking at the "back" of my character 99% of the time.

BC what server on LoTRO are you on and level/class?

If I do end up building a new machine, Im not going SLI again.
Theres almost no support and I feel like I wasted $500 (or whatever it was) because
it's not like my graphics are TWICE as good or come in TWICE as fast.
The machine is good, is stable but it's nothing over the top, performance wise.
And now it's starting to heat up really fast on me, I dont know if its the summer, the machine or (my biggest fear) outdated drivers.

And why the hell cant Intel break the 4.0 barrier?
Thats the reason I went with dual core in the first place
