Doh! I just read what I wrote and that was just plain STOOPID!

CB is talented, and a one helluva good guy. I've said it before, but it bears repeating. I like coming here, and if it weren't for CB, none of us would be. You have my gratitude (but I'm not sending any money).  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

That's okay Lengo, we all pass around private messages to one another and we all have the same personal tag line in each message that says something to the effect of:
"Lengo is such a cheap [*******]"
"How cheap is he?"
"He's so cheap that [insert new low here]"
So, each time we converse in PM's we fill in a new low.

Oh crap, I guess I just gave away our little secret.  Sorry guys and gals.  Laughing  wink

Well, as it is for me, generally one of the other people here goes and buys a game and then reports back on it, and I suss it all up from the information provided, then see if I can find the game anywhere.  I definately wouldn't have bought The Guild 2 had it not been for people like Pat! and Max's posts on the game.  I hated The Guild 1 enough to keep me away from any further purchases of their franchise, but Im sure glad I bought The Guild 2 as it's been a great game so far.

So basically it seems for me anyway, that I wait and see what other great games people have found and then buy it and get into the discussion about it.  In all honesty, sometimes I buy a game knowing full well that I won't like it, only so that I can participate in a discussion about it and not be posting how bad the game is to me just from an opinion from fantasy instead of really trying it.  I've read too many peoples posts on other website forum bashing a game that you can tell its quite obvious they havn't played the game at all, and are only repeating things that have been mentioned either by game reviews or other gamers.  So if I want to participate in a games discussion I feel it necessary to go buy the game to do so in an honest manner.

Yes, you can say that I am a total forum junky.  I play Lord of the Rings Online but in honesty I spend far more time on the official LotRo forum than I do playing the game, it's just an enjoyable environment to me and makes me happy to spend my time like that.

I've been toying with using the newsletter system of this site to send out newsletters of the latest game discussions to the members here, but havn't really come up with a proper format for doing so.  I would have to imagine that most members that have signed up to really participate in this site would appreciate it while those that only signed up to maybe download something wouldn't.  Maybe one of these days I'll give it a test run.  Perhaps when Settlers 6 hits the store shelves would be a good time to start doing that.  Would be interesting to see how many people would go buy the game and participate in the discussions about it.

I would never have bought The Guild 2 or ANNO 1701 if it wasn't for this forum.  They are great games, just a bit frustrating sometimes.

This forum is a great learning tool  Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up  If you have a problem you can count on CB, Max or Pad to help you out!  Trust me, I know, they have been bailed me out on numeroous occassions when I just wanted to pitch a game.

Soooooooooooooooooooo...................keep up the great work CB
