Sooo...do you guys like, announce a game and then all decide to play it, analyze it and then discuss?
Cause that would be very very cool (kinda like a book club for CB games).
Also, Im pretty sure of this but as the dicovery of this new niche I want to verify:
City/Empire/Caste...well Building games in general. Is it safe to say they are (obviously) about building but more so on the balance of both economy, population, and traffic, taxes, that kind of stuff?
There is a definite difference in my state of mind when Im playing,. example The Guild 2 over AoE, AoK, EE...
All those games feel like an ends to a means: War.  Which is fine, but when it comes to competition it's not so much your strategy as much as your ability to memorize your clicks for war production (think the emerging of the Uruk Hai in LoTR, mass production). My friends kick my butt because their cities are designed for spam clicking whereas I always try to build some sprawling Utopia, and by the end of our session it looks great (as their hordes are swarming looting pillaging it to rubble). It's not that I cant react or have the resources, its that I havent stitched all my military into some landing strip for spam clicking, so I have to locate this bldg, that bldg , etc

Whereas Im playing Settlers or TG and while the hurried pace is still there, it's not to build for conflict but to start tweaking and fine tuning the perfect city. In other words...hmm, think I answered my own question.

So ya, do you all announce a game or is it just coincedence that you all have interest in the same titles?

Well, we're just a bunch of people that like City Builiders and reasonable faccimilies thereof. Here on the CIty Dump boards is where we hang out mostly, but we also dsicuss the games on their respesctive boards (providing a certain game has boards). Generally though, ouir one thing in common is we build friendshps 'cause we play the games, no matter if we're playing different ones or not. Let that common interest be the starting point for bigger and better things -- like discussions on food, heatlh, politics, and other things..... the most important of which is friendhship. Treasure that more than the games, and you'll get a lot more from this site for it (and outta life too).

p.s. Some of us are a little wacky here. Others are a lotta wacky! Jump right in and enjoy the fun!  Agreed Happy

No, not so much about Santa, but I've been told I look like Kenny Rogers. The only trouble is, I sing like his horse!

Welcome to the boards. Stick around and find out just how wacky we can get! I hope you join in (internships are available at this time).

Exyll...i think the one thing you'll find that every member here has in common with the other, and Lengo touched on it...friendship.  There just are NO trolls here...no one bothers to denegrate someone else's opinion or likes or dislikes..we are all who we are and whether I agree with someone or not on a specific topic is never a reason to make it personal or 'mean-spirited'!  That's why I hang out on this forum...I have enough consternation in real life to add more to it here!

Yeah... the main thing is it's not a competition. There's enough of that in the real world.

Laughing hehe ...Ah Lengo "real world" ?...must be that which we love to escape when the opportunity presents itself.  We save our individual competitive natures to all those games we play.

I agree with pat.. and we've been bumping in to each other on game forums for a long time now.. I respect his assessment knowing his wise and sage demeanor wins more than just the games he plays.  Smiley Blink
