heh heh heh!

Well, toiday I got curious about what you're playing, Max. THen I started wondering what everyone';s playing.

I know you like Guild, Max. Are you still at that (I still gotta find out what this is)? Have you played RRT3 lately? When was the last time you played Children of the Nile? I'm back into playing that one, but I'm getting serious about Trainz again early this week. Probably tomorrow.

CB, what are you playing, or are you?

I like bouncing around a little. If you get so absorbed in one, you're likely to go nuts. I know I do, so bouncing around a little relieves some of the stress. But as you know, I'm absorbed with Trainz, and have taken a short break with Children of the Nile (kinda fun... very sound rich. I like that!)

I'm gonna go look at Guild tonight. Yeah... that's what I'm gonna do. Gamespot, here I come! I wanna take another look at Anno 1701, too. Not that I'm innerested in buying it or any new games 'cause I have some I haven't touched for years. Are you guys still playing wth Anno? Who was it that was so keen on this? Was it you, Taz?

United, I know you're playing Two Worlds. I'll look that one up too.

Rhiannon? Are you tied to the tracks, like Sweet Polly? I'll come and save you! I still owe you one for turning me on to Trainz!

Anyways, what are you all up to, gaming-wise these days? I bet we don't have a concensus.  That's okay. We're all still in this together! Agreed Happy

heh heh heh heh.  Anyone up for a Round Robin of Age of Empires II?  Big Smiley Grin Laughing Erm... how about Starcraft?  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

Hey! Nothing like replying to your own message......

I just looked at both Guild Wars (Is that the right one, Max?), and Two Worlds. I'm not much on RPGs but I gotta say that the graphics are outstanding on both of them. I'm a bit intrigued with Two Worlds too. Wow. Like a shooter but not, and in ancient times! Cool!

maybe I will buy a new game this year! That is, after the price drops!  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

LOL

Pat! check out my thread on settlers 6 for the link to download the "open beta" for settlers 6, be forwarned I don't believe there is a save option so it's less open beta and much more beta demo.

As for what Im playing, well, Im constantly jumping around. A bit of the MMORPG Lord of the Rings Online, some Guild II Pirates of the High Seas, I'm in the closed beta of a new MMORPG to come out later this year (yeah, sure!) and the old standby Anno 1701.

It seems when I don't want to really think when Im gaming, I play Anno (which isn't to say that it takes no brains to play it, because I think it does), when I really feel like socializing, then I play Lord of the Rings Online, and when Im not too frustrated I keep trying the beta of the MMORPG that Im in.

It's been a while since I've played Children of the Nile.  I tried it when again when I had vista on this box, and had problems with it, and havn't gotten around to reinstalling it since XP came home again.  The remainder of my time is spent far too long reading the Lord of the rings forums, this one, and the beta forums.  Oh dear God, I need a life  wink  Laughing

I played Guild Wars briefly.  I own two of their 3 chapters (for lack of a better word), and it kept me entertained briefly.  When money was tight around here it was an easy escape into Guild Wars since they don't carry a monthly charge.  Just buy the game and play online.  I think theres a total of 3 chapters right now, Prophecies, Factions and Night something or another.  I skipped Factions since IM not a big fan of PVP or factions really.

Let me just say though, that if you want to try a new genre of game for yourself (like your considering two worlds) you may want to try an oldie but goody, Diablo II and it's expansion pack Lord of Destruction which I believe they sell all in one pack now for about $20.00  It's an action/RPG that can be played either single player or online with up to 8 people through Blizzards battle.net  Sammy and I played D2 for about 2 or 3 years almost every night.  It became quite addictive always hunting for better loot.  Neither of us cared if our toons leveled up or not, we just wanted the next best piece of loot.  Keep in mind that I think it's max resolution is either 800x600 or 1024x768 (just in case you concern yourself with such things).

Well Sandra, break out one of your old ones. That's what I do. When you don't have any money and are looking for entertainment, it's right there in a title that you haven't cracked open for a while. Or try something real world. I had fun with the paper mache, and am considering getting back to it. I just may do that!

Talk about no-brainers. I just love my Stronghold Crusaders! I'll pop in the disk and find myself playing for 4-6 hours, playing 2-3 games at least. It just plain relaxing -- no brain activitiy at all!

I dunno about RPG. I've played Diablo II and found it extremely boring. I also went and bought Warcraft's MMORPG, which I didn't liike and didn't subscribe to. I dunno if I'd like Two Worlds, but I certainly like the looks of it. The concept looks great! More feedback from Pad is needed, that's what!

I dunno why, but I like games that play on a playing field. RTS and CityBuilders allow you to make maps to play on. Trainz is the ulltimate of these, and suits me nicely, but then all you do is run the routes and toot the horn. But citybuilders and RTS are where it's at in my book. They offer more in my opinion.

I played Theif II for a while. I kinda liked it, but then I realized that it was shooter without shooting. I got bored with it in less than a month. Besisdes, I got enough sneaking around during disco days. Trying to juggle the ladies was too much for me (what a cad and bounder I was!).  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

At any rate, if you get bored with games, get outside for a while. Go places and see things. Get on your Jungle Gym!  Agreed Happy After a while you'll come back to the puter all refreshed and ready to rock. You might end up spending time with other puter pursuits, like Photoshop or sumpin. Oh! I know what to tell ya! Get yourself a digital camera and go putzing around., That gives you an excuse to walk around town and get outside. And look what Max just did. He volunteered for a Civil War reenactment. That woulda been cool, fer sure!

Boredom: A case of having too many options and not being able to decide on which one.

Thumbs Up Good suggestions Lengo.. but just to keep the record straight..I was only a spectator at the reenactment program.. But it was a great diversion from the norm.   Smiley Blink

I get hooked on playing when I have a "burr" about how a game might play..so have the incentive to dig in for the long haul..until I either wear out or find out what I'm looking for.  During the course of the the day..I have a wide variety of activities which makes me feel OK about my gaming addiction.  I've always said that if an excuse is needed..one will be found.   Sticking Tongue Out

Sorry your are bored Sandra...and hope you've dried out from all the wet weather...never fret we'll all put our thinking caps on to conjour up something to get your bored time resolved. Smiley Blink
