Wizaerd!  That' Buccanneers Bounty compilation is AWESOME!  I have all three purchased seperately and while P3 is by far the best Ascron game ever, Port Royale 2 is great as well!  And Tortuga is good if you just like sinkin' and plunderin' ships!  Aargh!

Laughing  Well I have to confess to having a cat like game "curiosity" ..and like CB.. since visiting here I've been enticed to play games I may not have ever played.. like ones I've ignored in the past.

Not that pat!! or anyone else is the blame..but like Gothic..I just HAD to try it but I can't really play those type of games well enough from the get go.. but I did gain some solice that I managed to try it.. and share stuff with someone else that was involved with it.

Other games like the current Sim City HOT topic over at TM... and other Simulation have in my estimation Broadened my playing scope..  I'm even starting to warm up to that style of game ..way more than all the years I just Mmm?..well just played something else.

BUT..on the real cool side..playing and sharing works both ways.. It has been so cool top find other players who play or will (willing) to try games I've really had such FUN playing.  My stint with EU3 was really heightened by knowing pat!! and CB were also indulging in the commitment it takes to play ONE episode of that game.

All the other games that are more to the City Building style that the core of this sites membership like the Classics and GotRE ..even CivCityRome has made this site a virtual smorgasbord of discussion and a nice place for any individual to expand their personal playing scope.

So when CB has said it does appear that some of us are trying to keep pace.. and there's no escape that it can happen.  But the point of the matter ..is it a Bad thing.. personally I don't think so.  I've had some thoughts about creating some sort of "game therapy" exchange.. something that could become a virtual vehicle so no matter what game is current or old and moldy.. have a reassurance that any title (game) can be discussed (reviews pros and cons), exchanged (membership played for true opinion), rated (results of all impression)..and all these "findings" be a capsule of info for posterity.

Well maybe it is just the ramblings of a very aging player.. I thought I'd toss it into the water and see if any reactions will allow it to swim, float or drown.   Laughing

I'm always searching for the perfect game, and as of yet I've not found it.  I doubt highly that such a thing even exists, but that's why I'm always searching for and trying out new (and old) games.  The biggest problem I face is that I find some particular aspect I don't like, and instead of just getting over it, or finding a way around it, I tend to obsess about it, considering it a show stopper for me and I give up and move onto the next thing.  Regardless if it really is a show stopper or not, since I obsess about it, I can't just get over it.  So I've probably missed all the great things others like about those games.

Each of the games I've tried all have such wonderful aspects and features, but then there's that one glaring feature I hate.  Perhaps I need therapy...   Big Smiley Grin Laughing

Too many games, not enough time...

So very true  Thumbs Up

Im sure in the months to come, everybody here will end up convincing me to buy the game without the demo first.  Around here it's like trying to keep up with the Jones's, Ralph Jones buys a new game and I have to go buy that new game.  I must keep up with everybody else and have the fun that they are having regardless if Im really having that fun or not.

Laughing  Yep, I get tempted too many times by this...I am trying to refrain from Gothic 3 at mo cos I have TOO MANY games not played yet Ssssh..... Don't tell anybody

Everytime I try to play a game, and find additional gameplay information online, it always leads to some other game.

And the ole purse strings go ching ching again  Big Smiley Grin Laughing
