Anyone play Card games??.. I liked the non gambling type..because I was not a very good player when betting was involved..or other items were at risk.  Sticking Tongue Out

Gin Rummy saw a lot of play time, but some people cheat!. My grandmother would look you straight in the eye and swear she didn't cheat, although you and witnesses caught her in the act. I was only 9 or 10 when I saw this truly life-changing event.

I liked scrabble. I always did pretty well at it .... unless I was playing my brother. I don't know where he got some of this words!  He didn't cheat, but he'd come up with these stoooooopid words that nobody ever uses!

THen there was Uncle Lloyd. Oh my goodness! He was always having temper tantrums! No matter what game it was, we finally got around to "Come on, lets play! Before Uncle Lloyd gets home!"

Sheesh! And they wonder why I'm neurotic today!  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

Wink  I have Aunts and Uncles who did the same thing to me Lengo...they deny it to this day.  Now they have excuses why they "can't" play at that moment.. hehe If you knew me, I ask for them to play... often.

My oldest sister is the Scrabble champ..she's a "Sandra" too.and has one of those scrabble-bibles.  No hope beating her in a game she has aced for years. Wink

Mm?..any neurotic behavior I might possess is of my own doing...I'm sure my family is relieved to know that.  Laughing

We used to play a lot of card games when I lived at home, there was me, my mum, my dad, my sisters, and the neighbours across the road, (and anyone who cared to call in),Sunday was a "card and bingo" day, we'd play from 1PM, 'til about 5pm, break for tea, and resume around 7pm until about midnight, and we all smoked(except my sisters) it was like a tap-room Big Smiley Grin Laughing
But we had a laugh, I remember once when playing poker I laid down four sixes, and our neighbour (who had called my hand) had a full house, 3 Kings and TWO sixes, Big Smiley Grin Laughing Big Smiley Grin Laughing someone had used two packs of cards for a game and hadn't sorted them out properly,

Those were the day's my friend Laughing

Thumbs Up During the summer we would play cards all night.. We lived close to one of my Aunts, and her husband worked at night..(11PM-7AM)  so we kept her company while he worked.  She chose to have the same hours he did..so that their schedules were complimentary.   Wink

We played one game Rook..since we were kids, and sometimes Canasta..and became pretty good players.  As for Poker..only my cousin could play that very well...and he played in Vegas and did quite well.  You two might have had a great "poker" duel ..if you'd have met in the same game.  Laughing

I bet you're a card shark, Max. I can just see you wearing a visor, smoking a cigar, and talking tough, even at 12 years old!  Agreed Happy

I like poker. When you play for nickels, dimes, and quarters, tis no big deal. Youy can't get hurt too badly.

Wink hehe My first impression was Rockwell's "hounds playing cards'..I can't recall the Title of the Artwork..I know you'd recognize it.

Actually..I really do not play Poker..nor have I ever smoked, just didn't appeal to me.  Always made an attempt to toward a healthy lifestyle..but that's about it.  Too many long hours..and poor eating habits, and you pay in the end.   Wink

One thing though..remember Bat Masterson? Wow..I though he was sooo cool, I wanted an outfit just like his.  Never could convince my Mom to take it seriously though.. <pout>  Laughing

Hope your day and the upcoming weekend treat you right..suppose to be nice weather.  Big Smiley Grin Laughing
