 Wink  hehe  Well Sandra

Rum is horrible

I had the experience of watching a "costumed" Pirate at a party set himself on fire with a swig of 151 proof Rum..  On a dare he grabbed the bottle..took a chug.. then when the Rum hit his tonsils..he spewed Rum vapors all over a table of lit candles..  His acetate composite shirt(sleeves) went up in flame (looked like a human Roman candle)  flapping in the wind..  Looking around cautiously

Surprisingly his burns weren't serious..just needed to regrow some hair on his arms.. Sticking Tongue Out
We teased him for bellowing out one of the LOUDest Pirate "ARRGH's" of the century during his ordeal.   Laughing

Laughing  Laughing... well that's about all that was left of this guys lack of forethought.  I would speculate that Rum no longer found its way to his Liquor cabinet...well for personal use anyway.   Sticking Tongue Out

I continued to prefer my Rum n Coke through most of my Twenties.. just never had the opportunities to partake of many socially correct refreshments.  I do remember those Long IS. Teas.. they were OK..always sipped on them when I ate Lobster.. no valid reason Why?.. just did.   Looking around cautiously

CHANGES!

I can't do this. I simply cant make product fast enough to get to Saturday market. And the stess is killing me! It seems every time I take inventory, I've got little to show though much has been done. There's tooling to be made. There's supplies to be had. There's new approaches to be tried due to failed attempts. There's simply too much to be done to get product for market. I can't do this, nor take the stress.

I got sick with food poisoning this week. I was literally down COMPLETELY for two days. Ususally I'm good for only 4-6 hours a day, then I gotta lay down to make the pain go away. It's too damn frustrating!

SO, fropm now on, I'm making only what I want to make, and it's only gonna be good enough for me. I have no intention of selling anything, 'cause I can't work for $2 an hour. Therefor, everything I make is for me, and if I don't really want it, I'm not gonna make it.

Even if I did get enough product for market, I have nobody to help me at the stall. I can't set up the stall, nor man it for a full eight hours, and keep track of everybody and my eye on all the goods. I simply can't do this alone, and I have nobody to help me.

These things are left:

The butterfly swarm. I got hours of tooling to make! It could be a week before this is done, then another week to get the butterflies printed and cut, then soldered onto the amature.

A "magic" mirror. I found an appropriate mirror today for $5.

A pocket purse (I have three in the works, and one almost done, but I had to rethink how it works and have ordered magnets to make this work).

A box for stick incense. This is almost done. All that's left is gluing all the piece together. I should have this done by tomorrow, if I choose to work on it. I don't choose to work on it!

The genie. I have his head done, but I'm stumped over how to make his body. TOO MUCH WORK, MAN!

Another thing has influenced this decision. I've seen some great pieces that I want that I thought I could make myself. Sheesh! I could spend $30 on a bowl that is maed in Nepal that I cannot make myself. I just can't paint that well. Period. I can buy this this thing cheaper than I can buy the materials and spend the time trying to get it done. Secondly, I was in an antique store today. I bought a hand carved wooden  bowl that cost me $2.50, that I have no way of duplicating. THere were numerous other things I liked (and I mean NUMEROUS) that are far cheaper to buy than to make.  There's also a new shop just down the road from this place. It was closed, but looking through the window, I could see someof the prices and I can buy them cheaper than making them. Why reinvent the wheel?

So, I'm quitting. I'll make what I want when I want, when and I can't get it elsewhere. I'm tired of spending all my time working on this stuff, and lamenting not feeling well enough to work, and planning rest perioods so I can work, then working and getting very little done. Screw it! The extra money means nothing! I am not well enough to enjoy any extra money in the first place, and when I hae some, it's cheaper to buy it, and far less frustrating.

I will get the things I want though. ANd though I can't get to Disneyland, Disneyland can come to me. When I'm done with my collection, my apartment is gonna be really tricked out! No other Hippie in the world will have a collection as good as mine. It'll be magical, colorful, an NOT FOR SALE!

Well you said it Lengo, there's no point in flogging yourself to death to make money, and then being too ill to spend it!
Your health is the most important thing of all, so I'm glad you've slowed down somewhat, you have enough things wrong with you as it is without adding to them,
I'm sorry to hear you've had food poisoning, I hope you're feeling better now Agreed Happy
You'll find that once you start making things for fun, it'll start being fun Sticking Tongue Out

Wink Yes, Sandra.. that's a good way to measure a person's endeavors.  If someone "likes" what they are doing.. that even counts more for making each day pleasant for them..and everyone else.   Smiley Blink

It's just too damn frustrating, and nothing's very fun when you hurt all the time. I've been trying to conserve my time by not playing RRT3. That's 'less pain time' that I can't afford to waste. Everything's been channeled into getting this stuff done, and I'm just not getting done! So, screw it! It's robbing me of all my other time.

I played RRT3 last night. I tried the Spanish Main map over and over. I can't beat this one. Anybody know how to win on this stoooopid map? I even changed the difficulty to Easy, but you just can't make enough money. In three years, you're broke. What's wrong with this thing?
