Thumbs Up  Great!!  Good to see the submissions..  I'll Post the Answers.(with question and a commentS) so that you all will know "why" the correct is..what it is.   Laughing  Thanks Everyone!!  (did anyone catch that #3 was a freebie..)  Looking around cautiously

1. The official emblem of Ireland is:   B

a. The Shamrock
b. The Harp
c. The Blarney Stone

the correct answer is: The Harp

2. St. Patrick was:   A
a. A Christian missionary
b. A botanist
c. A French monk

St. Patrick was a Christian missionary credited with converting the Irish to Christianity.

3. Besides being a missionary, St. Patrick is also said to have: B

a. Discovered the medicinal properties of the clover leaf
b. Driven the snakes out of Ireland
c. Been a talented harpist

the answer is: driving the snakes out of Ireland. The legend represents driving Paganism out of Ireland.

4. "Aer Lingus" is    C

a. An ancient Irish epic poem
b. A slow and mournful Irish song
c. The Irish national airline

The Irish national airline. And the Aer Lingus logo? A shamrock

5. Legend has it that St. Patrick used the shamrock to represent:  C

a. The coming of spring and reincarnation
b. Good luck
c. The Trinity

There is no historical evidence to support this claim, but St. Patrick is said to have used the 3 leaves to represent the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.

6. Leprechauns are said to be:   B

a. Friendly little fairies who like to be chased and to give away gold
b. Ill-tempered and unfriendly spirits capable of great mischief
c. Elves who like to eat sugary cereals

the correct answer is: Ill-tempered and unfriendly spirits capable of great mischief. Leprechauns really don't have anything to do with St. Patrick's Day, but they are probably used because they're Irish and are made to look cute in illustrations

7. The Blarney Stone is famous because:   A

a. Kissing it is said to bring the kisser the gift of persuasive eloquence
b. Kissing it is said to bring good luck
c. King Arthur is said to have pulled a sword from it

Kissing the Blarney Stone is said to bring the kisser the gift of persuasive eloquence. The stone is set in a wall of the Blarney Castle in the Irish village of Blarney.

8. The colour green is associated with St. Patrick's Day because:  A

a. It is the colour of spring and the shamrock
b. St. Patrick is said to have worn a green felt hat
c. It represents the grain used to make Irish beer

Green is the colour of spring and the shamrock.

9. What is the meaning of "Erin Go Braugh"?   C

a. "Happy St. Patrick's Day"
b. "May the luck of the Irish be with you"
c. "Ireland Forever"

"Erin Go Braugh" means "Ireland Forever"

10. St. Patrick was born in Ireland.   B
a. True
b. False

His exact date and place of birth are not known, but he was probably born in Britain near the end of the fourth century.

Correct answer key is this list, I copied over all the submissions to compare ... I learned quite a bit from acquiring this quiz.
