"Heart of Empire Rome" has been cancelled

New York, USA (February 1, 2007) - Paradox Interactive confirmed today the official cancellation of "Heart of Empire: Rome". The strategy title was to be published in Q1 2007 in North America by Paradox Interactive.

"Rome is a very popular era and there is still much ground that can be covered for this time period as far as computer games are concerned, said Fredrik Wester, Executive Vice President for Paradox Interactive. "It's unfortunate that this title will not be released, but we look forward to reveal new projects and new releases for 2007 and 2008".

Release all the new projects you want, this consumer will not be buying any Paradox products EVER!!!!

Words fail me, I was looking foward to this title (as were many others)

I'm not sure it is ALL Paradox's fault.. I'm sure it has much to do with $$$ somewhere along the way.  The way Game developing companies start up..merge..fade away..for a long list of reasons..  we can just hope that someone will keep making a GOOD product for us to PLAY.. or I'm going to really sadder than sad.

Yes you'll be able to download loads of custom content for Spore, people will make lots of creatures -Vehicles-and even Planets I think, the tools are already in the game to do this, so we can look foward to lots of fan-sites sharing content
Custom content is the ONLY reason "The Sims" is still going, can you imagine not having any no neither can I

I thought about working in "bluer than blue..".. but it didn't fit the previous comment.

I think the trick is to get all these Devs spouses involved and addicted to playing and anticipating new games.. THEN we'd see some production.  Talk about needing FOOD tasters.. well it's not tooo much of a stretch ..definitely solid logic... hehe

I went to a store that sells almost everything Cheap 

I was surprised to find they had PC games for Max $3.50 

I got the USA version of Paradise for my g/f. The Europe version
has Starforce , US version have Securom. (great store  )

Got "Rising Kingdoms" for myself, it's a Citybuilder 
There is 3 races  Humans, Darklings, and Forester...

Talk about city Growth when playing Forester, you have to
plant buildings 

We know a person who works there, so now we will get to know
when they have a new game delivery   

Excellent with a Max price of $3.50 and alot of US releases.

  Stocking up on games UC?  I find myself in that situation ...often.  Can't pass up a good deal. 

I do wish you could sic Sandra on to other Devs...sounds like a good plan.  Will might be the hardest.. he likes things HIS way.. first, then other considerations are investigated.

I figure that store gets USA versions because there will often be Over-Production
in the US due to many (potentially) customers .....
There is probably some company that buy up the "Leftovers" that stores like
this one buy from.....

Funny thing is the release date in Scandinavia for "Paradise" is 04-16-2007 


Hmm... Sandra can call and buy the source code for 'Heart of Empire Rome'
We can pay $1-2
