CB...since you're in the mood for a war type game...take a look at STALKER...I nearly never consider FPS games, but this one has caught my eye and, with it coming out at the same time as the Oblivion expansion, may make April a FPS/RPG month for me!  STALKER is set in radioactive chernobyl...with oogles of mutants, trading, etc.!

Sadly, there is nothing on the immediate or forseeable future in PC games that I wish to buy.  I figure theres got to be something out there but nothing is catching my fancy at the moment.  I may have to go back to trolling gamespy or one of it's competitors to see what else is coming out this year.

I think what Im in the mood for lately would be a really good world war 2 type of game.  I just bought Supreme Commander but I really don't care for future war games they really don't do anything for me.  Just like I didn't like starcraft when it came out.  I need something between Anno 1701 and EU3 for me to be happy I think.  EU3 is just too difficult and either too slow or too fast for me to play it and enjoy it.

I don't like wondering what some uber mechanical drone type of weapon is going to do, I'd rather have traditional tanks and armies, ships etc that I know about to play around with.  The only one that I've been toying with is something called Blitz on Berlin or something like that, though I have to read up on it some more to see if it's got some good long living game life because I don't care for games that have a limited lifespan due to the constraints of only allowing scenario play as I don't really care to play the same scenarios over and over and OVER again and again and AGAIN.

Looking like slim pickings to me this year.

CB !!

If you feel like it take a look at Caesar IV !!
I did because I haven't played it at all in at least 2 Months and
find that game to be really great after the patch and all .....

I may give another crack at Caesar IV, I never did finish it.  I've tried reinstalling a lot of older games that I have here to see if any of them catch my fancy but so far none of them have.

Heck I tried to reinstall Sims2, but something went wrong somewhere when I tried to install either Nightlife or open for business, and caused a blue screen, after which windows said that there was a problem with my hard drive so I did a chkdsk on it and most of the errors found were related to the partial install of the sims 2 xpack.  Im a bit leery about trying that out again since I don't want to pop for a new hard drive if something goes bad again. But who knows, I may still try to install it again.

I've never been a FPS type gamer, I just don't have the eye-hand coordination to play those games, plus most of them just bore me to tears just about.  The war games that I've enjoyed in the past have always been the strategy type of games, I really liked Rise of Nations when it first came out.  But the main problem that I've almost always found with these types of strategy games is that if you play against the computer AI, then a simple "I have more troops or a better economy than thou" seems to win the situation.  Generally speaking if I have a great economy, then I can keep throwing troops or armored whatever at the enemy and just whiddle it down till I win.  Which is my usual way of playing.

Same with me I don't fancy the FPS-Genre with one exeption,
and that's "Prey".  Prey is different then most FPS's as there isn't
so much shooting all the time. Prey have a nice strategy element
to it also, and is very great with outstanding graphics, sound etc.

Hey then I've got a treat for you...  I bought up about 10 preorder boxes for prey.  They come with the little pewter figurine inside of them.  If you don't already have one let me know and maybe I can post it to ya.  It's nothing great, just a little trinket in a box.

I was going to put them up on ebay when Prey first came out to try to get a couple bucks for each one, but never got around to it, so the boxes have been sitting on a table here collecting dust and I was about to throw them away sometime this week.

I think I paid about $0.01 for each box once the game came out.  Yes 1 cent for each box.  Cost me a whole 10 cents to buy up the 10 boxes that were on the shelf.

When I bought them the lady at the counter thought I was crazy because she thought I was buying up 10 boxes of the full game, and thought I was getting a great deal at $0.01/each.  Big Smiley Grin Laughing  She finally realized it was the preorder boxes that I was buying up.

Yeah that's what I thought too.  I usually buy up any preorder stuff when the games come out since the local shop reduces the preorder box price from about $10.00 down to just $0.01 so sometimes some preorders come with stuff that is gimicky or fun etc.  And sometimes they've got the games soundtrack or a dvd of the games developers with little movies telling more about the game etc.

I had started to paint the figurines from the prey preorder but my hands are in too bad of shape to do such fine detail painting anymore.

Wink Anything for a penny is a "gimme" ..CB.   Smiley Blink

I suppose the Addons that are scheduled for the upcoming quarters will have to suffice..some arre downright necessary for quality game play.

E3 will no doubt bring out the "future" PC possibilities.  That venue isn't too far away either. Sticking Tongue Out
