   Good info guys

I'm not an avid DvD software user.. I have a little program DivX  something..just noticed it in Programs listing..  I forget why I needed it..probably to "view" something..?? <shrug>

CB...that's sure a relief seeing your mother isn't insisting on ultra clean/clear revelations.  Kind of takes some of the heat off your efforts.

Reading these posts though..it'll help me when and if I get into using some of UC recommended software suggestions.

The second shot is remarkably sharp for a capture from a DVD I think.  My mothers Im sure was shot to tape because they are from 1994 to about 200x and their budget from what I remember of the show wasn't all that large.

But as she keeps telling me, low quality is better than nothing, so she's apparently happy enough with it, but the Power DVD does actually make it easier since I can just keep hitting the capture button and it's auto saved for me instead of having to paste the printscreen into photoshop.

I should be able to get all of it done long before the trial copy runs out I think.  I have quite a few older copies of power dvd from all my old computers but I would guess that they probably wouldnt work right with vista, I seem to remember seeing something about that in the microsoft vista newsgroups.

Thanks for the tip, it has definately helped.

Just remember if the DVD-Capture isn't working, the try to set
hardware acceleration to OFF in Preferences in PowerDVD....

But this was maybe a problem in older versions of this software....

Im an admitted forum junky, so I run into people that post this stuff on other forums from time to time.  I remember when ascii art was the big thing and everybody was doing it.  It doesn't seem as popular anymore I guess since I don't run into it as often.

  Do I need to confess..?  ..that I'm one of those forum types too.. probably not. 

Through the years I've observed some really creative Sigs and amazing Art.  Back when forum's could safely "allow" HTML and some Java script...I had fun with it myself.

hahahaha, I never noticed that before, but now that you mention it, I have to agree.  I think he probably was created with that in mind.
