Smiley Blink Hope all the anomalies go away Lengo.

Remember if a slot has been vacant in an open tower..it could be corrupted by dust and make for a miserable reception when put into use.  Graphic cards can be picky about how well "seated" (tightly secure) they are in their slots.

If your Box is running so great with one (1) Gig..just think about the possiblity with TWO..yeOOoW!!  I can see Lengo..dancing already!!! Laughing

Glad you are staying calm...enuf stress has already passed under the bridge.

Definately!  My ATi X1900  (seems to me that the x1900 is a very heavy video card) used to be extremely finiky about being seated properly when I had the Acer mainboard, it sometimes seemed that if I bumped my desk then the video had a good chance of going out and I'd have to open the box and reseat it again.  Since upgrading the motherboard to the DFI lanparty board though, I havn't had this reoccur  Looking around cautiously

I wouldnt go back to 1GB of ram for anything anymore, having 2gb is really usefull and thats all that Im running in Windows Vista because the other 1GB that I have apparently sets the timing to 2 for the memory, probably because I have two 1GB sticks of memory (that run with timing 1) and two 512MB sticks of memory, and the two 512MB sticks set the timing to 2 and make the memory run at 333 instead of 400.  One of these days I'll probably pickup another two 1GB sticks to have a total of 4GB again but probably not until I make the switch to Vista 64bit.  Although that will probably be a ways off I think.

Smiley Blink Good points CB on making sure the Ram being used has "matching" specs.

I'm incrementally maxing out my PC's that are used for games.along with updated graphics.  I thought I was staying pretty close to the current threshold, but in a matter of months I'm looking at the whole LAN for upgrades.  DirX growth and PixilShaders, net-Framework, heavy duty user situations...aaahhhh there's just no end.and never will be as I see it. ... it seems to me that when I have to diagnose my own computers problems I almost always go looking for someone elses advice on what to do, but when it comes to someone elses computer it's real easy to dish out some advise, right or wrong.

Yeah, it is easier, 'cause you're not the one that's stressed!  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

Second opionons aere always sought. It just makes sense. I mean, why else do people have meetings? Just to inform? I think not. Think tanks are the solutioin to the biggest problems, and what problem is bigger than a broken PC?  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

Thumbs Up   Big Smiley Grin Laughing

Spreading the problems and miserly over a group of people should reduce the stress to overcome the issues solutions.  I think the next tme my PC "hiccups" it'll get "tanked" alright, without a second thought.  In six months it'll be "dated" so might as well take the first excusable opportunity to gear up with the latest tech..

So now...all I have to do is hope my current PC lasts six months.  Certainly no gurantees Sticking Tongue Out
