I completely forgot that I own another site until tonight when I checked my spam mail box and saw a bunch of spam mail in it with the sites url, so I went there and can't even remember how to do anything over there.

I remember setting it up, but never officially opening it and it's been sitting this way for about a year now, I don't know what possessed me at the time to register the domain, but I did.

COOL!  I got couple songs I made. Perhaps I'll upload 'em to you. I made these a few years ago and if I say so myself, they're pretty good.

YOU'RE JUST SO TALENTED! How are we suppose to keep up?  Agreed Happy

Hello and Welcome Hey CB  Took a peek...???     What exactly does this site DO?.. I know AOL and others offer online "radio" broadcast...is this on the same plane?

Over the years I've lost track of my many "activated" sites..must've had a dozen angelfire..and similar types along the way.  Practicing those Web designs..and it was a great learning experience. Laughing..lot of work to maintain for sure. Ssssh..... Don't tell anybody

It's supposed to allow people to sign up and upload their own created music, then they can create their own web radio stations so that others can listen to it.

Unfortunately there is no "front end" program that can be used on peoples windows machines to listen so they have to visit the site to listen.

Then other members that don't have their own music to upload can still create their own stations using the artists music that has been added to the site to create their own listening stations.

The other idea was to allow people to upload their own pre-recorded AM style talk shows that others could listen to.

In it's basics you might find a promoter of multiple bands sign up with an artists account and upload songs from each of his band that he want's to promote.  He could then create his own "radio station" that others could listen to of all the songs that he had included.  Or non artist members could sign up and create their own stations of their favorite music from a list of artists that have approved the music that they uploaded to be used in other peoples radio stations.

I never went anywhere with promoting the site and didn't even realize that all this time since last June, the sites been sitting there with a page that just said something like "we'll be here soon" because I never removed the index page.  Not that the site was done at that stage, but now it's fully functional but I just no longer really have the desire to do anything with it or to try to promote it, so I'll probably just let the domain name go next june when it's up for renewal since Im really not that enamored with the eMP3radio domain name.  Had I been able to get just MP3radio.com then I'd probably be willing to try to promote it somehow in the hopes of just reselling the service to some other entity.

I've done that in the past before the internet crash and made quite a few sales of the sites that I used to own to companys from places like Japan and Korea that bought the sites from me (the most expensive site that I sold was searchrunner.com for $25,000)  Boy money is hard to earn but easy to spend  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

I think searchrunner is still operational but they twisted it around to be more of a B2B type of site instead of it's initial structure which was a search engine that gathered up all the other search engines results in one area when someone searched searchrunner.  But hey, if it makes them money, then more power to them.  Up until a short while ago they were still using the same red and black designed site that I had created for it but only changed the content behind the site.  Now it's some nasty looking really plain jane looking thing that I would never make my homepage (not enough content).

The man/company that owns it did want me to do some web work for one of their other sites a couple months ago and I used my usual "broker" to broker a deal for me since he speaks their native language and he knows better what these companies are willing to spend on updates and revamps but it never went anywhere.  They didn't deny it, they just sort of put it on hold for the time being.  I think they had other obligations to deal with before pumping any money back into websites that don't make them any real money but instead get their name out to people instead, which I guess could make them more money in some way depending on what they actually do which I have no idea what that might be.

It's often entertaining to go back and look at the domains of sites that I've sold over the years to see what if anything they have done with them.

At one time my then business partner and I owned all the state boating sites, like caboaters, and miboaters, or nyboaters etc.  We had a boating site for each state, but it was my job to design the sites both asthetically and the software that would run them (back end php, mysql, asp etc) and he was supposed to be marketing them, but he never did so after a couple years we just dropped them all together.  Last time that he called me a couple weeks ago he said that he now regretted that we had let them all go and that now he had the resources to market them properly.  Ooops, oh well....

Hello and Welcome  Thanks for the insight CB

Hindsight is always 20/20.. or keeps a sore spot in the ribs.  I make an concious attempt to look at the positive side.  Recalling I had a great time back in the early days of 'Net growth learning all the "languages", and watching the results.  The .com crash sort of put a damper on most every phase..that's for sure. But we both know it's not dead by any stretch...even my near 80yr old mother banks online..(I truly fainted when she said "Ok..show me how"..)

As far as any purchased www's..I figure that somewhere..someone will come up with a plugin..and a stand alone interface with enough options so it won't matter how generic a site is..something can be done with them.  I see no end in sight on this account...

I suppose the new generation, who takes the Internet for granted..since they have no knowledge of a time without it...will take the whole works to another level.  Maybe if I last long enough I'll get a glimpse of the product.

It's always good to know of people who've experienced the same exposure to the life altering ways of the Net.  I'm sure we could exchange tales all night ..as a threesome of course..you , me, and Jack!!   Sticking Tongue Out
