...made life better? (well we could include VB..into the mix)

DEFINATELY!

OOp is the best thing yet. And yeah, you cna include VB at versin 6 when you actually can compile it and not need a runtime library.

GOOD NEWS, GUV'NOR!  I finally have Apache server, PHP, and mySQL configured on my puter! I'm IN! I'm finally in!  Now I can write some freaking code and test it!!

Sheesh! That took blood sweat and tears! But I'm one happy camper tonight! OH YEAH!

Oh well  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

I have tried LISP and FORTH a long time
ago.

But as with LISP it's hard to get to grips with....
But once you finally uderstand what it's all about,
you realize you have too small resources to
use it properly   Laughing

FORTH on the other hand can be powerful if you
feel comfortable with RPN(Reverse Polish Notation).
Some people hate it some love it......... I'm
somewhere in between there  Smiley Blink
Anyway FORTH had/have great potential, and I
found it pretty interesting  Thumbs Up

Looking around cautiously I agree UC...old times can be good to recall..or relive the pain and suffering..

It's a faint memory, but I think we used FORTH with VIC 20's..you're younger so I'd take your accessment if that's how it could've been. Whereas LISP was kinda like FORTH..turned upside down deal.. my exposure was brief ..since in those days something else was always on the table..to try.

I got spoiled by procedural-sequential languages hehe "reverse Polish notion" and I thought I was the only person who thought of that (great calculator proggie)...you'd be a great archive collaborator UC...wonderful memory. <sigh> Life in Programmer La LA Land searching for a programming language with a good faithful compiler..then a good interpreter (that everyone had..and usually didn't).  In my case I outgrew the job-description..left the bulk of work to the younger eyes.  But I found time to poke around in Java..PERL..and not have to complain too much...I still had the incentive to learn.

I'd have to agree that it has been a real interesting life..tapping away.. hours on end. Smiley Blink
If given the chance to do it over again..??  I might approach it differently...hard to say.
