If you registered for membership on this site but have not yet received the confirmation activation email, there are 3 main reasons.

I don't know if anyone here is playing AOE:O
but they just released a skirmish booster pack (free for a while) that makes the game almost exactly like AOC and I am in complete nostalgia mode!  It is not 100% complete but you can do up to 2v4 with a friend for classic age battles - they even added a bunch of the classic maps (even with Black Forest [my all time favorite!] :D).

To me all skirmish mode is missing is up to 4v4 (or even 2v2v2v2, etc.) end game statistics, and a "champion mode" where all units and technology are unlocked... as of now all units are unlocked to be researched in skirmish, but you can only research the tech you have gotten through leveling up your in game civ.

All in all it is almost perfect, finally aoe I can play online that appears to actually work!

Just wanted to get the word out :D

(Ah, need to add: I would love to play some co-op battles if anyone gets it and wants to play -- it is all 100% free!)

Wow. First time I've heard of this game. Ever. What was the advertisement team doing?!

Gonna give it a go later today, though I've checked the pricing list and I'm not too impressed :S

Guess I've grown beyond the MMO's payment system..

Yea the pricing sucks, but you can get a lot out of the game for free anyway.  Unfortunately for me I love anything that resembles age of empires II and have purchased all the civs (also part of the reason is wanting to support the game so things like this skirmish mode would eventually be implemented!)
