My sister and her two daughters are at present on their first cruise - the ship Pacific Pearl.

What I find really cool, there is a live cruise cam onboard the Pacific Pearl and I can see where they are and what the weather, sea etc is like at P&O's official webpage.   Presently (10.00am Tuesday 3rd NZ time)the ship is coming into Noumea!!!
Here is the link

When I saw them arriving at Vila a couple of days back it was so exciting -knowing somewhere on this ship was my family and they may be watching the ship arriving as well. Happy Dance

That's pretty darn neato.  We went on a cruise about 10 years ago but there wasn't such things as this.  All I really do remember about our cruise was that I enjoyed spending the day and nights on the top of the ship deck, and one night being told that everybody has to come inside because the seas were so rough and the winds so strong that we could easily get blown overboard where we were standing.

I then went to the back of the ship which has a protective surround around it and looked out the back of the ship and watched other ships off the tail of our ship go down about 30 feet and then rebound up about 30 feet.  In reality it wasn't them ducking down and raising up like that, it was our ship doing that only it made it look like other ships off the tail of our ship looking like it.

Overall a lot of fun, and I probably would have spent the entire cruise on the deck if it were possible rather than in the cabin.

Understand what you mean.
On the last night of the cruises I was on ages ago now (I would so love to go on another  Happy Dance ), the group I was with stayed up all night on the deck and watched the sunrise. It was like hanging onto each minute and not wanting it to pass. It was so very sad to leave and go back into the real world  Crying  Crying.
I can understand why people want to stay at sea................
