Has anyone had a chance to play Stronghold 3 since it's been released or either started to get patched? I was just wondering what your thoughts were on this game to see If it's worth buying now or If I should wait to buy it later.

I have both 1 & 2, but will wait until the price drops to get three. So I'm probably not much help. There's a site for it http://www.stronghold3.com/ if you haven't been there already.

I'd honestly say to wait until it drops in price.  The total lack of a skirmish mode with AI makes the game not anywhere near worth the price tag they're asking right now.

I played it for a bit, it's a hot unmitagated mess right now...it needs a series of patches (it's been patched a few times)...will I play it again?  Yeah, probably, but not for a while and CBs point about no skirmish mode is spot on...they promised it, they lied.  Stick w/ SH Crusader for now, a ton more fun!

pat!

I haven't played it yet, but there's a mode similar to skirmish that's been recently added:

Of course skirmish should have been in to begin with.

I tried it very briefly when it was released, of course I couldn't keep myself from sending the kings forces at my castle which immediately slaughtered me.  I haven't touched the game since.
