Oh man! I got the best coffee you can get. Here's what you need

Get yourself a bag of Starbucks' house blend. I buy decaf, though you can do better for sure.

Also get yourself some Nestle's Special Dark chocolate.

Brew your coffee, add about 1/4 to 1/2 a bar of the dark chocolate to your cup. Still till it melts. THIS ROCKS!

Anybody else got some great coffee ideas or brands to buy?

Cafe La Lave I believe is the brand name of what we drink when we don't want to pop for the Starbucks bag.

But when we buy starbucks, we usually buy the espresso roast and use it just like regular coffee except that we grind it as fine as for espresso then use it as regular coffee in our coffee maker.  You can imagine it's quite strong since we use the same amount of espresso roast as we do for all coffee.

But when Im in the supermarket and Cafe La Lave is on sale (below $3.50/can) then I will usually pick up one or two cans of it, I personally find very little difference between it and the starbucks espresso roast.  But I bought a very large can of MJB and we all agree here that it's not our cup of coffee, it no longer tastes like coffee to us after years of drinking starbucks and or cafe la lava.

Hello and Welcome Coffee connoiseurs unite!!

Though I know very little about coffee..I've had a morning cup for over half a century. Laughing..hopefully that counts for something.

I discovered Kona coffee blends way back before they became so commercial and enjoy the gentle flavor.  We keep a good supply and have local roasters for a little variety. Their latest order form lists a Hacienda la Esmeralda Geisha from Panama..WOW! that's expensive.

I don't think I'm a Kopi Luwak type of coffee person..but when is coffee and a 20year old scotch suppose to compete with each other. Looking around cautiously..I like them both in seperate venues.

I go to Starbucks with the kids..on their invite..not of my own accord.  My favorite restuarant offers an acceptable cup...that's a good thing.

 Hello and Welcome Lengo,

I don't drink coffee, but I put chocolate in my oatmeal.  Laughing Agreed Happy
Both dark chocolate and oatmeal are good for you, and oatmeal is a lot cheaper than boxed cereal. I eat a couple of sections of NSD a day and have oatmeal for breakfast almost every day.
Except when hubby is home then I make Denver omlets (with our own eggs).  yumm   Agreed Happy

Your comments on RT3 sound interesting. Where did you get it for $9.99?

Glad you are feeling better, Taz

I bought it at Target. It's probably available at Walmart too, but I haven't checked.

It doesn't matter what brand of coffee you drink. Just try adding some chocolate to it. It's great!

I'll look for some other brands. I'll see if I can find that Cafe de Lava (sic) stuff!  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

Before I moved there was a flower shop (of all places) that had an entire wall of coffee beans and a grinder. I used to get one called Raspberry chocolate truffle that was to die for! Just brew some up, add a dollop of whipped cream and shave a chocolate bar (with a potato peeler or cheese grater) over the top...OR get those teensy little chocolate chips to sprinkle over the top!

I'm not a real chocolate person...the hot cocoa I make for the kids smells nice.  I like caramel..for my sweet tooth.  Love it on Ice cream...all my life.

We have a local truffle store..since MHB's mentioned raspberry truffles..sounds delicious.  Maybe I'm just hungry...all this cold weather gives me an appetite Looking around cautiously

you want a treat for your tastebuds, put 2 Werther's originals in a baggie and crush with a small hammer. Pour the tiny shards into a mug and cover with hot coffee, stirring a few times to melt them quickly... mmmmmmmmmm

For those who don't like all the 'work' involved in that, use caramel ice cream topping in your coffee! Not as fantabulous as Werther's but close!  Sticking Tongue Out
