That's a real shame.  Is it bugs or gameplay issues that are the main problems with the game?  Or both?

it's really both Khalan.  Now that i am finally able to play, I AM playing it...it still has that wonderfully quaint feel of the SH series, but it's a buggy, ill-programed mess...they're promising more patches and a free content patch in November, but by then Skyrim arrives and this may be shelved for months...Firefly I think is done.  This will be the dagger in the heart for them...

Agreed totally.

I'm so over them and their games after this fiasco.

Me too,

I was originally prepared to wait and see if things could be improved, but even if it is, it still leaves maps too small to fit in the buildings especially with the peasants food demands, meaning that there isn't enough room to fit in all the orchards etc let alone allow for castle construction - and building placement is a nightmare. The camera controls are demented. The stonewalls can be demolished by infantry chipping away at them with their spears or swords. The various units are unresponsive even when set on aggressive and lassoing them is hit and miss. Then to finally rain on the parade its got a stonework border round the edge of the map to take away any semblance of realism.

When I think of the two lead designers describing the new features they were supposedly proud of, I can't help feeling they were taking the piss because surely no competent designer could have been so unaware of all these design flaws and go ahead and release it in this unfinished state, especially as they were not under any immediate time pressure. I think they were more interested in designing a nice pension pot for themselves and then quietly disappearing.

They've certainly got a Stronghold on a lot of peoples' money, who have no hope of any redress.

So many times I almost hit that pre-order button, dodged a bullet on that one...

Here is firefly's response: http://www.fireflyworlds.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=485&Itemid=1

They know it sucks and was released early... what I don't understand is why they didn't push it back again since it was in such bad shape, or they should have released a closed beta to all thoes who pre-ordered and set a Q4 2011 release date or Q1 2012.  They could have got all this feed back without as much negative press + bad reviews which has hurt current/future sales.
