A while back (I can't find the post now) CB mentioned possibly changing the citybuildergames.com banner and opening it up to anyone who'd like a go.  I finally decided to give it a try, so here's what I've got (it's fairly simple and I may change it, click for full size):

I've posted this as a poll to see what people think, but bear in mind it's completely up to CB whether or not he'll use this.

The actual banner file is attached to this post (2048x105 png) and is freely available for citybuildergames.com.

I have to say I like it quite a lot. It represents city building games much better I think. And where are my biscuits and tea?

EDIT: Sorry! I have some family over and my 8 year old nephew jumped on me and typed and managed to click post before I could stop him.  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

Looks very nice. Having multiple games and game themes is a good way to encapsulate what the site is about I think. I'm curious about the last game shown to the right though. It just shows empty starry space. Might be good if it was a more appropriate image of whatever game it happens to be.

I'm also curious. Is it possible to make images like that scale based on the users resolution so that the full image is always visible by stretching or squishing to fit the users current res? Or even to scale based on the window size of the browser for that matter? Or is that not practical?

Thanks for all the comments.

The last image is no particular game, it's just a space scene representing future endeavours.  I'm open to any suggestions of suitable games though - preferably made after CitiesXL and set in the future/near future.  Maybe a Civ V late era pic?  Or maybe the new Anno?

Not sure about making the full image always visible, I just made this the same size as the previous banner.

Last screenshot actually looks like it is right out of Universe Sandbox... while not technically a city builder, it is a builder - I think building your own universe encompasses a city or two.  Assuming your universe has intelligent life Smiley Blink

But I like the thought into it otherwise.

Now that I noticed it actually goes in a graphical as well as time based order I think maybe Khalan's suggestion of the new anno game might be a good one for that spot.
