a starting point.

We'll see how much these components come down in the next few months. I have been getting Scuba jobs lately on the side as well, so i suppose i should put all that cash straight towards a new computer fund and speed this up a bit.

@Lengo

Yea I see your point on the case, which I understood, It just seemed like a high price point for the case!
As for the monitor, I really don't know the resolutions which are officially 1080p.

As for your memory question:
http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0353218 (4gb ddr3).. granted it is not the best memory in the world, but ddr3, :P

And I would not mind supporting a Lengo fund :D
But you would have to join us in minecraft :P

@_Face
Awesome wishlist, my only suggestion is don't waste so much money on the cpu, I got my i7 920 (which I don't think they sell anymore)  for $199 2 years ago which was rated 2.67ghz, I just got it at a stable OC at 3.8ghz, better rating than the one you want but $800 cheaper...
Also: http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0346210 is $199 now, starting at 3.06, you could probably easily OC that to 4 (I guess mine is suppose to easily get to 4, but I don't feel like pushing it any higher).
(Just a way to bring that price down, unless you really need 6 cores and higher L cache -- then again that thing probably could OC close to 5... and I thought my computer was sucking some juice :P)

PSU is awesome, you could essentially push that comp any which way and it will bow to its master willingly, lol

Are you sure you could only get by with 120GB? S.S.D is nice, but you can get 1TB 7200rpm for $60... unless hard drive speed really has you down.

Final suggestion, I got two 570s for about $700, that means SLI, 3+ monitors if you want it, and I believe 570sli will beat out the 580 (but at a $200 premium - I am loving 3 screen gaming though :P)...

Oh and your missing component... case?

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I am not going to trust this.

Well, start campaigning for me and I'll consider playing minecraft.  I'm just like any other capitalist. You gotta pay in advance!  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

@Face, Your rig is overkill. You don't need to spend that much on a 'puter. Yeah, it's nice to have bling, but tis better to be prudent with your spending. Save your money for an emergency, or a down payment on one of the TERRIBLY EXPENSIVE late model cars. Better yet, a house! When it comes to computing, all you need is what is adequate. You can spend $200-$300 less and still be able to play the best games. Or you can put it in the Lengo fund. <-- this is the best idea I can come up with.  Big Smiley Grin Laughing

I'm surprised with your IT talents you can't think of something to do to make your PC earn a little extra income. I know quite a few people who are doing just that, myself included.

You have me thinking on this, but I'm not going to work for anybody but myself. I'm not going to take orders from some ninnyhammer, and I gotta have passion for what I work on or it isn't worth doing. I need to come up with a product and market it. I often get ideas for them, but most are silly, and I come up with them for amusement. All I need do is come up with a legitimate, what people want, product. Something will come to me soon, fer sure.

I've had three business already. I know what's involved. I can do this despite my disabling pain, even it my product has a short lived appeal. But I'm gonna have problems getting start up capital and that may prove to be impossible. Howevers, I'm thinking on it. Perhaps I can make a couple hundred thousand. Sheesh! Even a couple thousand would be nice, so you have me considering it for real this time. Thanks!

Besides, it sure seems like being a corporation is the thing to do right now. Everybody is doing it, so there's gotta be something to it. And I'm pretty sure what that is: Limited liability and lots and lots of tax credits! TOO MANY tax credits! Just look around you. Existing corporations are not creating jobs, they're restructuring, or splitting into sub-contractors, combining subcontractors, and renaming themselves. They doing this for a reason, and the reason is always profitability. And if I can't beat 'em, I might as well join 'em, so I'll come up with something soon (meaning within six months).

p.s. You gotta be my first customer. After all, this was your idea so you gotta continue your support. Maybe I'll sell you a franchise!  You in? Or are you just hot air? Big Smiley Grin Laughing
