Just sold my gtx 275 and upgraded to two gtx 570s (SLI! :D)
I am waiting on buying a third monitor, but when I do: Nvidia Surround!! I can't wait to play FS (or anything for that matter) on 3 screens.

Congratulations.  I gave my gtx275 to Samantha, and got two gtx 460's.  Other than not being able to get them to work properly in SLI, I'm quite pleased with them, with one being the display and the other my physx card.

Oh, have you ever played around with  Digital Combat Simulator: Black Shark?

Thanks, and very nice... but how come SLI won't work?  With mine I had them installed the way the diagram in the box showed, but the two sli connector would not reach, my motherboard guide actually told me to place them in the two primary slots (right next to each other, which allowed the SLI connector to reach) and so far everything seems to be running great.

(The only downside is the primary one gets less air flow being so close the the secondary one), but temps have been great, been getting in the 40s for primary and 30s for secondary idle, about 80/60 under load (fan set at 61, but I might start increasing that)).

And up until now I have never heard of it, but not so much a fan of helis... I did get Wings of Prey when it was on sale, and play on simulator mode which has been really good (Track IR is a godsend for that).

[And are you CityBuilder on steam? I'll have to add you :D]

Yes, that's me on steam.

The problem I have with the SLI, is that any and I mean *any* game that I play with SLI turned on, then the lower half of the monitor screen shakes left and right really fast to the point where you can't play the game.  I don't know why,I'e never had this issue with any of the other cards that I've run in SLI on any of my other computers over the years.  I may have to pull the cards and reverse them (bottom to top and top to bottom) to see if it continues to do it.  Somehow I don't think it will change anything.

... that is strange.

Have you tried changing the refresh rate of the monitor? from 60 to 75 or vice versa?
Or maybe try a different resolution in game... if widescreen, the widescreen settings could be causing an issue.

back when SLI was more or less new, I built a new gaming rig to take advantage of it.  I bought a 7800 GTX, with plans to, and eventual purchase of, a second 7800 GTX. I was heavily disappointed to discover that when I turned SLI on, on the nVidia control panel, I could only have output to one monitor. as a long time multi monitor user, that was a deal breaker. I turned SLI back off, and only a handful of times turned it back on to play a few games.  I never looked into it again.

I assume from your posts that this changed at some point?

I did see a 3-way sli mobo at one point in time as well, and was never sure weather to think that was better, or just a giant gimmick.

I desperately need to build a new rig.  Crying My mobo fried several months ago and have been suffering with a back up PC for too long.

My partner has the simulator and says it is extremely realistic with the startup sequence and flight controls. There is a "lot" to learn with the manual startup of the chopper engine before you can even fly the chopper (there is an auto start that makes the sequence a bit shorter) and he has spend "ages" just learning or trying to learn the controls.  I think he has only done a couple of short flights and he reckons once he learnt it completely, he would be able to fly the chopper in reallife.  But he does/did enjoy it, although he hasn't reinstalled it since a reformat and I wonder if he will again  Questioning Laughing
DS has got very good reviews and there are quite a few videos of the game on youtube.

Yea two way sli will get you 3 monitors + and nvidia surround allowing you to span video on multiple screens.
My mobo supports 3 way sli, but I don't think I will ever have a need for a 3rd gtx 570... these two have killed everything I have thrown at it so far.

It was pricey, ran about $700 after tax (do have some rebates to send in though, and sold my 275 to a friend which saved me $100, so really around $580), but I have been dreaming of upgrading like this for a while and have been very pleased.  My next two purchases will be a better CPU fan (and maybe another chassis fan) so I can begin OC, and the third monitor.

Even one would have been plenty, but I really want 3 monitor gaming :D

Well, that's love for ya. Here I thought you might it to give me, your long lost friend, the 275, but NO! You hadda go and give it to your girl!   Crying

570s, eh? Hey! I been looking lately and I decided on the 275 due to budget constraints, and if anyone else gets the notion to give one away, you can get it done and also undo my budget constraints a little. So next time, think of Lengo.

I'm soooooo hurt!  Laughing

well if I one day decided to upgrade from these 570s, I'll let you know :D

Just updating this again to say I finally got my third monitor Smiley Blink (could not wait any longer).  Got a 24" LED samsung (ToC - wanted the same style that my 23" monitors are).  The 24" led was 250, which I thought was a pretty decent price.  Was going to go for a 27" lcd for $305, but was worried it would be too big (I am glad I decided to stick with the 24. - have only the main on to save power (and temps) when not gaming, for some reason the 500 series does not downclock with two monitors plugged in.)

I'll update soon with some pics of some games with surround (probably FSX!)

[Edit as reference, my rig is the one on the left, the one on the right is the minecraft server... which I just remote into, even though I (now) have three other monitors I could plug it into for maintenance :P]
