No, I never played the first one and I'm not sure If I'll continue with 2, I was hoping for a bit more RPG element to the game, at least have a inventory where I can collect stuff that will help me and use it along the way.

Ditto.  I don't remember too many options for when traveling around, or exploring. one hall way led to a door, led to an elevator shaft, led to a passageway, led to a stairway, ect..  The haunted eerie, tone of the game kept me playing a bit into it, but eventually stopped with no real desire to continue.

also I like far fetched and sci-fy games and stories completely, But i need a bit of realism when called for. The opening to Bioshock 1 is a plane crash. then OF course the first thing i would do is swim to the nearest lighthouse, go down in the basement and take the creepy elevator way down into the depths of oblivion. That bugged me too much for some reason. I just couldn't buy it from the start.  Maybe had i needed to traverse the island first to get to the lighthouse it wouldn't have bugged me, but you literally swim straight to the lighthouse door and are ushered downstairs to an elevator. Granted had i survived a plane crash I would swim to a lighthouse, but most certainly would not do anything other then get to it and wait for a rescue. idk i guess i may be a little too critical about my games sometimes.

This is interesting how many others have had similar experience with this game, or with the series. I bought Bio 1 quite some time ago and like others I never got to far in it before losing interest and never going back. Granted I had a number of game crashes at one point which sucked some of the interest away. But all in all the story seems almost second place to the atmosphere. So while the atmosphere is intense the story is anything but intriguing. Not sure just how far I got in but I don't imagine it was that far.
