I am considering getting Cities XL or Cities 2011.  I need to make sure it is something I want first though.  I like to build one huge, sprawling city with some suburbs around it.  Currently I am playing Sim City 4, but I don't like how they only allow you to build a bunch of little cities in one region, instead of one large city.  Will Cities XL allow me to build one huge city in one location?? Are are there also budget restraints in Cities XL like in Sim City 4?? I have the biggest difficulty with Sim City 4 because it seems that spending just a few dollars allows the budget to bleed and you run out of everything.  I like the Facebook city building games, like Social City, and the way they allow you build factories and stuff to get money to spend on the game, and allows you to spend some of your own money to get coins, buildings, etc.  I am looking for games like them to buy.

The maps in CitiesXL are definitely bigger then the city maps in Simcity 4 but they are certainly no wheres as large as a region in Simcity 4. And there are no regions in CitiesXL, although you can trade resources between your cities. Money wise, yes, there are budget restraints but it is a great deal easier to make a lot of money in CitiesXL compared to Simcity 4. In fact I find money becomes a non-issue very quickly in CitiesXL which I personally find rather annoying.

Yea, A sim city 4 player!!! :D I absolutely LOVE Simcity 4 with the rush hour expansion and have never fully gotten bored of it.  Anyway, I have not played Cities XL before but I do believe as I was looking throught the archives in this site that there was a download that allowed you to triple (or maybe double) the amount of availiable for one city. City Builder has a link to the archived posts and topics in the city dump I think so look there or in one of the other main discussion boards. Hope this helps. Smiley Blink
