I'd start now.  However... While other people got their activation email yesterday, I didn't get mine until this afternoon.  Still, you didn't preorder, so I'd contact them now as it should be instant when you order on a regular order.

Do the usual however and check all the nooks and crannies of your email which ever one you utilize for the usual suspects of spam box, etc.

Ok, let's start working through it, let's get the minds together, and try to figure this out.

What's going on Pat?  Where is it breaking down, what's it doing, any errors etc.

Got it, finally the CD key was emailed to me...this is a terrible way to distribute...when I bought Tropico 3 Add On from them and one of the Grand Ages Add Ons, it came immediately...I wonder why this time it was litterally 12 hours before I got the key?  Anyhow, it's installed and I'm about to fire it up for an hour or so.

I'll post any impressions on CB's string about impressions!

later,
pat!

OIC, it was the problem of not yet getting the seiral number and D-Link.  Here I thought you were having problems with the game running.  At first I thought, 'Impossible' his computer is great, but hey, it is cities xl so who knows.

Good that they finally got the key to you.  They must be staggering releases to the buyers, maybe to prevent overload on the server.  Somebody else suggested thsi before and I could not agree, but I'm starting to think maybe they are right.

I hate to hear of your problem pad11, and don't mean to rub it in or sound (too) unsympathetic, but this is exactly why I boycott steam and things that require net.   Flaming Mad  Of course I don't have a choice, I'm not connected.   My access is borrowed or public.   Still, I'm running software from DOS, 3. 1 and '95.   Castles (the original); Conquest of the New World; Doom;  Rome:Total War, (not to mention other genres) etc.   In a handful of years no one will be able to run Empire: Total War after a machine move or drive replacement without an activation crack.   I'm fine with downloads/online/MM's for those who have the option (to each his own, I say), but Valve and now others have screwed the rest of us, big time.   You are welcome to your headaches in that regard.   I'll stick with CivCity:Rome (new map on CivCity Forms for those interested, BTW), Startopia, CotN, Moon Tycoon, RR Tycoon 3, Space Colony, CIV3/complete,  and a few others I'll still be running decades from now.   I have the discs, the patches and the docs, all hard.   No strings required.   No big brother.   Thumbs Up

I've looked at the CitiesXL site now, and I'm favorably impressed, but content to wait for the home single player version. (LOL)   Thanks.
