It's a great game CB.  Thumbs Up Make sure you download the latest patch.
I had no problems running it with Win 7 Ult 64bit, but I  did have  issues with the graphic settings in XP where I had to tinker with it a bit to stop the game from crashing.
Great graphics and music too.

So far it's been pretty enjoyable.  I did have to download a program named FPS Limiter (a small less than 300kb program) that is supposed to limit the frame rate to try to obtain a constant frame rate instead of jumping around.  For me the game plays anywhere from about 24fps up to about 60fps, and this caused the mouse to be very inprecise, that is to say that when moving the mouse around (just in the dialog events where you have to choose one of the dialog messages) I would move the mouse cursor and stop it on one of the events that I wanted to say back to the NPC, and the cursor would slide a bit further before coming to a stop.  It was like moving the cursor through jelly instead of through the air.  The FPS Limiter helped tremendously to where the game is now playable for me when choosing my dialog responses.

Unlike Sacred 2, I really like that when I kill the enemy, they stay dead and don't respawn, although it does make it a bit harder to level up which it seems is what this game is all about if you want to complete it, you need to be on par with the enemy if not a step above them it seems.

The only thing that worries me is that I've read that if you don't find the right items in the game, you may not be able to complete it.  This means checking out every single barrel, crate, bowl, everything to ensure there are no items necessary for the main plot hiding amongst the junky stuff.  For example I read that there is an area where you have to find some certain item and it turns out that the item is in a bowl, and if you don't remove the 3 pieces of letuce from the bowl you won't see the item that you need to collect.  So, I'm spending an extrodinary amount of time checking each barrell, each crate, each table, each chest etc.  Although, it's very real in this regard since in real life you might also have to spend that much time checking every single item in a room to find the stuff that somebody might have hidden there, so it's all good.

Anyway, enjoying it, it seems really good thus far.  I just got the first taste of what it's like to be able to turn into the dragon and that was great fun, looking forward to being able to turn into the dragon at will, and to create my creature and runners later on too.

Yeah very cool being the dragon. Dont forget to dragon  skill up when you are in dragon form or  to put on the dragon armour  as you are unable to do that part when in human form. I sort of missed that bit ingame for a little while until it dawned on me - doh  Bashfull Female Big Smiley Grin Laughing

I decided  to jot down the locations of the NPC whom gave me quest or the npc whom I had to go later on in the game as sometimes it wasn't always clear where they were. The Wiki was very helpful for that a couple of times Ssssh..... Don't tell anybody

I've been trying to leave markers on the map to remind myself where things are that might be important to me, like where the necromancer cave is so that I can easy get back to it, I also try to leave markers of where quest givers are when possible because I have a tough time remembering where the quest givers are to return to when the quest is done.

It's really difficult at the beginning of the game for me with only like 156HP, a couple hits from the enemy now and that's depleted, costing me a small fortune in health potions at the moment.  Hope to learn some alchemy soon to start creating my own.

 Hello and Welcome
Try to get to higher ground ie on top of a big rock, or onto a path above them, etc and use the bow - that worked for me.  A lot of those enemies can't jump too high.

If you high tail it away from the enemies, (if you don't have enough health),  most creatures will only chase you for a small distance before they head back to where they were standing.
You will also get a spell where you can summon a creature that can also be "upgraded".  The creature has a pretty good health length and is invaluable.

Yes, I've found that objects in the world can often make for great cover, I often find myself hiding behind trees, huts, large rocks etc.  However, sometimes the enemy just overwhelms me and surrounds me (as it should) and I find that I can't get away from them as they are blocking my retreat.  Sometimes jumping, will allow me to jump over one of them and then escape, other times not.

Let me ask you about melee combat.  I've read that clicking my mouse as fast as I can is not the way to play the game and does not help, but I've yet to read how I should be fighting with melee combat (i.e. swords, clubs etc).  Any clues what I must do?  I know that jumping up in the air and then clicking does some kind of special move but I'm not sure what it is or how special it is, although the combat animation makes it seems like it must be some sort of power move.

Also is it right that I can only summon one necromancer creature at a time?  It seems if I summon a ghost, and then summon the ghoul, then the ghost disappears.  I'm not finding the ghost all that useful, it's supposed to help me regen my health but it never does so when I actually need it, it's too slow at doing it, almost making it worthless in combat situations, unless I'm doing something wrong?

I never used the ghost, I just used the creature that gets sown up by the necromancer.  You will get better body parts for it in the game to increase the attack etc.

As for melee, I'll go and crank up the game, cos I have forgotten.  I used the bow mostly.

edit.  Yeah just click, but you don't need to do it quickly. You will get the feel of it.  I made the mistake of click, click, click, instead of click, pause, click.  The pause is where your character is making slices of the enemy  Big Smiley Grin Laughing and doing real cool body movements.  I found locking onto an enemy (default c) is great - either with bow or sword.  That way you get rid of an enemy quickly instead of multiple swipes which may hit  a number of enemies in a group and not killing one.

Hope this helps
