I had hoped that ArchLords would turn out as good or better than World of Warcraft but it's nowhere near the quality of WOW.

It was originally supposed to be a pay to play game and actually was at first for the first couple months then I got a email from the publishers saying that they were dropping the pay to play and turning it into a free to play.  Basically buy the retail version of the game and play for free.  So I did for $29.95 and Im sort of regretting it however I couldnt really find anything else to buy in the gaming department at the time so I figured for a price thats less than dinner for two at a local restaurant I'd give it a try.

I only hope that they improve the quality of it and gain more people because while it is Multiplayer it doesn't really seem all that *Massive* however it is Online and RPG.

I may have to bite the bullet and go back to playing WOW again.  Only this time I wont give them a credit card number (because I forget Im being billed every month) and just buy some prepaid game time cards for 2 or 3 months at a time so that it's all paid up front so if I get sidetracked again I wont continue paying for WOW until I go and buy another game time card.

In some respects I really do miss playing WOW, it must be the capatalist in me in that I like to go out foraging to find usefull crafting items and then try to sell them in the games auction house just to see how much people will pay me for them.  It was exhilirating the first time I brought in a stack of 20 coppers and someone ended up buying them for like 2 Gold which doesnt sound like a lot but in reality they were worth about 10 silver, and you figure 100 silver per 1 gold so .........

Hello and Welcome I too think WoW will continue to draw in quite a group of "faithful"..and I have a couple in the family that are in that group.

Glad you are on top of your game..CC auto-billing is a nightmare we all have to keep hands on the reins..

I think the auction feature is a lot of fun...nice to feel that you are on the profitable side of the process.

Thanks for the headsup on ArchLords..I'm a capitalist too..so save my $$ for something more deserving.

Well I picked up a game card for WOW, and started to play again yesterday.  I think we must have played for about 8 hours yesterday and would have played even more but I had a golf tee time this morning at 11 with my brother (who's in for the holidays from Florida) and had to meet him at 9:30 for breakfast before going to golf so I had to get to bed early.  We played WOW up until about midnight then I just had to pull myself away from it.

Im hoping that this time around I'll be able to get much higher level than my old account.

My old account became jeorpardized because the email address I used on it to register the account was on my old gameparade.com website and I failed to renew it and an individual snatched it up on me.  So I forgot my login details for my old WOW registered game and when I remembered what it was I logged in and tried to change my email address, only to be told by the WOW server that it has sent an email to my old email address that I must check before my old email can be changed to my new email.

Huh? What?  Why would I want to change my email address from an old address if I still had access to the old address?

So by doing that the WOW server sent out an email to my old email address at gameparade.com which would mean that the new owner of the domain would have gotten it and could then go to the wow server and ask that it send out the username and then the password to the old email since it wouldnt let me change it to the new email which would in theory mean that they could access my account.

So I ended up just spending another $20.00 to buy another copy of WOW which gives a free month of play and then a time card for another 2 months so I should have a total of 3 months of play before I need to buy another time card, so we'll see just how much I want to buy another time card before my period runs out, maybe 3 months will be just enough to get the desire to play WoW out of me.

One of our roomies has been playing WoW since we both signed up in January of 2005 and he's still not higher than level 35 or so, whereas some people on the WoW servers have long been at level 60 (the maximum level) for almost a year or more (but they are grinder types of players that do nothing but play WoW their every free moment) and most of them complain about there not being anything else they can do when they are playing, which baffles me that people want to rush through their games to get to the end.

I say take your time and enjoy it instead of rushing through it, but too each his/her own.

Happy Holidays.

It was really windy here yesterday and quite funny to see my ball go high up in the air about 100 yards then drop straight down to the ground.  Big Smiley Grin Laughing  Since I don't keep score, I don't really care about it, as I more go out to play for fun and relaxation than anything else.

My brother gets irked to no end that I won't keep score as he keeps his score meticulously and can't really understand how someone can go out to play golf without keeping score as he doesnt feel that the person will know if they are improving or not.  Not that I care if I improve or not, but I can certainly tell if I've improved.

Anyway, Im paying for playing today.  I think every muscle in my body must be screaming at me for playing yesterday as I havn't even swung a club in about a year and a half or more and suprisingly I was able to complete the 18 holes even though I did quit on 2 holes when my ball ended up in someones swimming pools so I figured no point in dropping a ball since I wasn't keeping score anyway.

Our days are beautifull (usually) at about 75f though our nights have been getting rather cold for the area.  Generally about 42f but we had about 5 or 6 nights last week that dropped us down to about 33f.  The mountains had a dusting of snow yesterday since the clouds hung on top of the mountains behind us all day and never moved into our valley desert area, so the mountain top village of Idlywild got the brunt of the weather activity other than the high winds that we had.

It's great excercise in a very non-threatening way...and then BAM, the next morning (if you haven't swung the club in a while) muscles you haven't used in a while give you hell for hours!

ah...good times!

I can only dream of just hours of hell.  I went on sunday, and now it's tuesday morning and Im finding more and more muscles each day that are really sore.  For example this morning I woke up and my inner thighs are really hurting when I try to walk but on monday they didn't hurt.

I suppose it could actually be that they were hurting on monday but the rest of the muscles that were hurting on monday hurt even more than the inner thigh muscles so I didn't notice it.  I suppose.

Anyway, Im hoping to get out on the course much more often now that my folks have joined a club and it won't cost me anything to go play.

It sure is.  My brother said that it just cost him $100.00 to play 18 holes on a "public" course here in the desert.  Which is why I don't go out and play when I have to pay.  Add in another 6 balls at $3.50/ball that I lose in 18 holes and it's $120.00/18 holes of golf.  No Thanks!

I'd rather stick to where my parents are members since it costs $0.00 unless I don't want to use their golf cart (there cart really doesn't like hills at all, we could probably get out and push the cart up the hill faster than it travels under it's own power up hills), then it costs me all of $10.00 to rent a cart.

Another perk is that our two room mates here as well as my partner play tennis and there are 2 tennis courts at the club that the members don't play (you know, to wealthy older people tennis is so pasay!), so Im hoping to get out and play some tennis during the season here before we get back into the 3 digit temps again next year.
